Arvid Lindblad Links His Journey to Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Mannat’ Story

Rising motorsport talent Arvid Lindblad, currently driving for Racing Bulls in Formula 1, recently drew an interesting comparison between his own journey and that of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan. Reflecting on Khan’s famous Mumbai residence, Mannat, Lindblad highlighted the story behind the home and the deeper meaning it carries.

Lindblad, one of Formula 1’s most promising young drivers, shares a personal connection with India through his maternal roots in Punjab. During a recent YouTube vlog, he spoke about the emotional significance of Mannat, the sea-facing bungalow in Mumbai, and what it represents.

He pointed out that the name Mannat translates to “wish” in Hindi, before recalling the popular anecdote linked to the property. According to the story, Shah Rukh Khan was once turned away by security when he visited the house years ago, only to later return as its owner. Lindblad found that narrative particularly inspiring, noting how Khan’s determination eventually turned his aspiration into reality.

Drawing a parallel to his own career, Lindblad said the story resonated with his journey in motorsport. He also referenced fellow Formula 1 driver Lando Norris, suggesting that there are similar elements of ambition and perseverance in their paths.

His visit to India was not limited to reflection. The trip unfolded with a lively mix of experiences, including a casual cricket session at Azad Maidan, a walk through Colaba Causeway, and a stop at Girgaum Chowpatty to sample local street food.

On the professional front, Lindblad made history as one of the youngest drivers in Formula 1 when he debuted for Racing Bulls at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix at just 18 years and seven months old. He currently sits 11th in the Drivers’ standings in the ongoing season.

Earlier this year, Lindblad also participated in the second edition of the Red Bull Moto Jam, a large-scale motorsport showcase designed to bring fans closer to high-performance racing. The event gave Indian audiences a rare opportunity to watch him drive a Formula 1 car up close.

As one of the few F1 drivers with Indian heritage, Lindblad returned to India shortly before his season debut to perform at the India Expo Center in the Delhi NCR region, which previously hosted Formula One races. During the event, he drove the championship-winning RB8, originally raced by Sebastian Vettel, presented in VCARB livery.

Reflecting on the experience, Lindblad described it as deeply meaningful. He spoke about how special it felt to drive in a country that played a role in shaping his childhood, recalling moments such as visiting India Gate and receiving an enthusiastic response from fans. He expressed gratitude to everyone involved and called it the perfect way to begin his Formula 1 season before heading to Melbourne.
