Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed National Democratic Alliance workers at Shri Baliram Higher Secondary Plus Two School in Sakra block on Sunday, outlining his government’s achievements since 2005 and announcing plans to provide jobs to one crore youth over the next five years.
Development Track Record stated by CM Nitish Kumar
Addressing the gathering, CM Nitish Kumar stated: “The government before 2005 did nothing for development here. Since the NDA government formed on November 24, 2005, we have been continuously engaged in uplifting people and advancing Bihar. Rule of law prevails in Bihar. Development work is being carried out rapidly in all sectors.”
The Chief Minister highlighted infrastructure achievements under the 2015 Saat Nishchay (Seven Resolves) program, including electricity, piped water, toilets for every household, and connecting hamlets with paved roads.
Employment Generation Claims
CM Nitish Kumar claimed significant progress on employment targets: “We decided in 2020 under Saat Nishchay-2 to provide 10 lakh jobs and employment to 10 lakh people. So far, 10 lakh youth have been given government jobs and 40 lakh people have been provided employment. Thus, a total of 50 lakh youth have been given government jobs and employment.”
He announced: “We have now decided that in the next five years, one crore youth will be given jobs and employment.”
Budget Growth and Welfare Measures
The CM noted Bihar’s budget increased from ₹28,000 crore when NDA took power to over ₹3.16 lakh crore currently. Recent initiatives include constructing marriage halls in every panchayat at ₹4,026 crore, reducing interest rates on Jeevika loans from 10 to 7 percent, and increasing social security pensions from ₹400 to ₹1,100.
Under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, Kumar stated ₹10,000 has been transferred to 1.21 crore women so far, with additional assistance up to ₹2 lakh for successful ventures.
