RM, Jimin, V, And Jungkook Of BTS Begin Military Enlistment Process

Korean entertainment giant Bighit Music announced that the four youngest members of K-pop sensation BTS – RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook – have initiated the process for mandatory military enlistment.

After recent speculation over exemptions, the company confirmed the quartet will soon fulfill their duties by entering active service like older members Jin and J-Hope. The exact enlistment dates are yet to be finalized.

This leaves just three-seventh of BTS presently active as rapper Suga is already serving as a social worker post shoulder surgery. However, the company promised full support for the enlisted artists until the group eventually reconvenes around 2025 after completion.

The news follows BTS going on a group hiatus since June 2022 to pursue solo projects temporarily. All four members have released acclaimed individual albums recently to resounding fan response.

But with the eldest hyung Jin setting the precedent in December 2022, the makers were evidently always going to follow suit. Putting rumors to bed, the agency asked fans to keep supporting the stars during this period of military service.

While the decision cut short at least two years of BTS’ resurgent fame, it was an inevitable rite of passage for the Korean band. Despite assured reunion, the next chapter in members’ lives has signaled the end of an era in pop history.

But with Borahae’s love, the septet is destined to eventually reunite stronger on the other side. Their goodbyes are never forever. And individual glory still awaits.
