Netflix has announced a new docuseries about the serious allegations and criminal charges against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, with Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson serving as producer, according to Variety.
The series is being produced under 50 Cent’s G-Unit Film & Television, with contributions from Stapleton’s House of Nonfiction and Texas Crew Productions.
The docuseries, directed by Alexandria Stapleton, will explore accusations against Combs, including sex trafficking, racketeering, sexual assault, and violent abuse. It is currently in production. In a joint statement with Stapleton, 50 Cent told Variety, “This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, beyond the headlines or clips seen so far. We are committed to giving a voice to the voiceless and presenting authentic, nuanced perspectives.”
The statement also noted, “While the allegations are disturbing, it is important to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the entirety of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”
The series was first hinted at in December when 50 Cent posted a clip on X (formerly Twitter) featuring Bad Boy Records rapper Mark Curry, who claimed that Combs would spike champagne at parties before women drank it. At that time, Combs had been sued by four women, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, whose lawsuit he quickly settled.
The exact release date of the docuseries has not been revealed, but it is expected to debut in early 2025. Combs’ legal issues have since intensified, with his recent arrest in New York on multiple charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, coercion, and transporting individuals for prostitution. Combs pleaded not guilty and remains in custody after being denied bail twice.
Additional lawsuits have surfaced, including claims from a model who alleged Combs drugged and assaulted her in 2003, and allegations of verbal abuse and sexual battery from former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard. Combs has denied all allegations, stating, “Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals seeking a quick payday… I will fight for my name, my family, and the truth.”
