Reports indicate the actor is vacationing in the United States with partner Saba Azad, who recently shared photos from their trip.

Jackie Chan’s most recent film release is the action thriller “The Shadow’s Edge.” Unconfirmed reports suggest the Hong Kong cinema icon may reunite with Chris Tucker for “Rush Hour 4,” though no official confirmation has been provided.

The chance encounter between two of cinema’s most accomplished action stars generated enthusiastic responses from fans worldwide, who appreciated the mutual respect displayed between performers known for pushing physical boundaries in their craft. The post accumulated millions of likes and thousands of comments within hours of publication.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta extended greetings to residents on Sunday as the capital prepared to observe Chhath Puja with a public holiday on Monday, October 27, accompanied by elaborate arrangements for devotees including celebrations along the Yamuna River banks.

Chhath Puja represents a significant Hindu festival primarily celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, as well as Nepal. The four-day observance honors Surya, the Sun God, and his consort Usha through traditional rituals and worship.

Delhi Holiday Arrangements

According to a Chief Minister’s Office statement released Sunday, October 27 has been declared a public holiday in the national capital. Officials simultaneously issued a traffic advisory to manage expected congestion during festival observances.

Schools across Delhi remain closed for the occasion, with most private colleges also shutting their doors. Vasant Valley School announced: “Government of Delhi has declared Monday, 27th October 2025 as a holiday on account of Chhath Puja, in place of Tuesday, 28th October 2025, which was earlier declared as a holiday.”

Delhi government offices are closed for the holiday, though private sector offices generally maintain normal operations. Authorities have advised residents to verify travel routes before commencing their journeys due to potential disruptions.

Services and Transportation

All hospitals, emergency services, and public utilities will function normally throughout the holiday. Delhi Metro services, buses, and auto rickshaws will operate on regular schedules to prevent commuter inconvenience.

Yamuna Celebrations

Chief Minister Gupta highlighted the significance of worship opportunities on the Yamuna’s banks in a video message posted on X. “After many years, our brothers and sisters will be able to worship the Sun on the banks of the Yamuna Ji and offer Arghya to the Sun. We have made extensive preparations… Heartiest best wishes to all of you. I pray to Chhathi Maiya that her blessings remain upon us all like this,” she stated.

Gupta confirmed that every ghat features adequate lighting, comprehensive safety measures, and proper drainage facilities. The Health Department has deployed medical teams across celebration sites to ensure devotee safety during the festival.

The arrangements represent significant infrastructure preparation to accommodate the thousands of devotees expected to participate in traditional Chhath Puja rituals along Delhi’s waterfronts.

Chhath Puja: October 27 marks Shashthi Tithi, the sixth day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartik, observed as Sandhya Arghya—a crucial component of the Chhath Mahaparva festival. Devotees across India undertake rigorous day-long waterless fasting while offering evening prayers to Lord Surya for family well-being and prosperity.

Chhath Puja Timing and Schedule

The Shashthi Tithi of Kartik commenced at 6:04 AM on October 27, 2025, and concludes at 7:59 AM on October 28, 2025. Sunrise occurred at 6:30 AM, with sunset scheduled for 5:40 PM—the critical time for evening Arghya offerings.

Ritual Observances

Following the completion of Nahay Khay and Kharna rituals, devotees begin a demanding 36-hour waterless fast and perform the evening Arghya ceremony to the Sun God. Worshippers transport traditional offerings including fruits, flowers, thekua (a ceremonial sweet), rice laddus, sugarcane, coconuts, and other items in bamboo baskets to designated Chhath Ghats.

At sunset, devotees offer Arghya to the descending Sun using brass vessels. Following this offering, they circumambulate the Sun God five times and light ceremonial lamps while praying for familial well-being and happiness.

The ritual cycle continues on the morning of October 28, when devotees offer Arghya to the rising sun with prayers for family welfare. The strict fast concludes with the distribution and consumption of prasad. This morning ceremony symbolizes new beginnings, purity, and spiritual renewal.

Cultural and Religious Significance

Chhath Puja represents a festival embodying faith, devotion, and self-discipline within the Sanatan tradition. It holds a revered position in Hinduism, dedicated specifically to Lord Surya (the Sun God) and Chhathi Maiya.

This sacred festival, deeply rooted in folk religious practices, is celebrated primarily for family prosperity and children’s longevity. The rigorous fasting requirements and elaborate ritual observances demonstrate the devotion of participants, who endure physical hardship as an expression of spiritual commitment.

The festival enjoys particular prominence in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, though celebrations occur wherever communities from these regions have settled. The discipline required for the waterless fast and the communal nature of ghat celebrations make Chhath Puja a distinctive and socially significant Hindu observance.

Shreyas Iyer Hospitalized in ICU with Internal Bleeding Following Rib Injury in Australia ODI

India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer has been admitted to a Sydney hospital’s Intensive Care Unit after sustaining internal bleeding from a rib cage injury during the third match against Australia. The 31-year-old suffered the injury while taking a spectacular catch running backwards from backward point to dismiss Alex Carey.

Shreyas Iyer appeared to have injured his left rib cage during the fielding effort and was immediately transported to the hospital after returning to the dressing room on Saturday. Medical reports subsequently revealed internal bleeding, necessitating ICU admission.

Shreyas Iyer Medical Assessment and Treatment

“Shreyas has been in ICU for the past couple of days. After the reports came in, internal bleeding was detected, and he had to be admitted immediately,” a source with knowledge of the situation told PTI on condition of anonymity.

“He will remain under observation for anywhere between two to seven days depending on recovery, as one needed to stop spreading of infection due to bleeding,” the source added.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team responded promptly when Iyer’s vital parameters fluctuated upon his return to the dressing room following the incident.

“The team doctor and physio didn’t take any chances and took him to the hospital immediately. Things are stable now, but it could have been fatal. He’s a tough lad and should be fine soon,” the source explained.

Extended Recovery Timeline

Initial assessments suggested Iyer would be sidelined for approximately three weeks, but the internal bleeding complication may significantly extend his recovery period.

“Since there has been internal bleeding, Shreyas Iyer will certainly need more time to recover, and at this point, it’s difficult to put a definite timeline on his return to competitive cricket,” the source stated.

Medical professionals expect Iyer to remain hospitalized in Sydney for at least one week before being cleared for travel back to India. The middle-order batsman is not included in India’s T20 squad, which may provide additional recovery time without immediate selection pressure.

The incident highlights the physical risks cricketers face during intense fielding efforts, even when executing routine catches. Iyer’s condition remains under close medical supervision as doctors monitor his recovery progress and manage infection risk associated with the internal bleeding.

Louvre Tightens Security Post $102 Million Heist, Sends Jewels To Bank Of France

The Louvre Museum in Paris has reportedly moved some of its valuable jewellery to the Bank of France, according to a report by RTL radio. The transfer comes in the wake of a $102 million jewellery heist that took place at the museum last weekend.

The Bank of France, located just 500 meters from the Louvre on the right bank of the River Seine, safeguards the nation’s gold reserves in a massive vault situated 27 meters underground.

Although neither the Louvre nor the Bank of France has publicly confirmed the transfer, RTL reported that several items from the museum’s Apollo Gallery were secretly moved on Friday under police escort. The Apollo Gallery is home to France’s historic crown jewels.

The theft occurred on October 19, when eight pieces of jewellery worth $102 million were stolen from the Louvre’s collection. The robbery, which exposed serious gaps in the museum’s security system, happened in broad daylight. The thieves used a crane to break an upstairs window during visiting hours and fled the scene on motorcycles. Reports suggest they also attempted to steal a diamond- and emerald-studded crown but dropped it while escaping.

French authorities are now analysing dozens of DNA samples and fingerprints in an effort to identify the culprits, AFP reported, quoting a Paris prosecutor.

Prosecutor Laure Beccuau told Ouest France that investigators had collected and examined nearly “150 DNA samples, fingerprints and other traces.” She added that the analysis was being treated as a top priority and could yield crucial leads if the suspects already have a criminal history.

While the Louvre’s director acknowledged earlier this week that there had been a blind spot in the museum’s external security surveillance, Beccuau said that footage from public and private security cameras elsewhere in Paris and surrounding areas has helped detectives track the movements of the thieves.

Assam CM Reveals ‘Love Jihad’ Law Will Extend Liability To Parents Of Accused

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that the proposed law aimed at curbing “love-jihad” will include a clause allowing the arrest of the parents of the male accused.

After a cabinet meeting earlier this week, Sarma announced that several key bills, including measures against polygamy and a law addressing love-jihad, would be introduced in the upcoming session of the Assam Assembly.

“We want to save our women from traps where they become victims of love-jihad and polygamy. We are bringing stringent laws, and the parents of the male accused in love-jihad cases will also be liable for arrest under the new law,” he said on Friday.

Sarma made the comments during a cheque distribution ceremony for a women’s empowerment scheme in Lakhipur, Cachar district. He also stated that women who have more than three children will not be eligible for such government welfare schemes.

“Some people say that Allah gives them children, so they cannot stop giving birth. I say, give birth as many as you wish, but do not expect government help to raise them or to send them to government schools,” he said.

Speaking about the proposed anti-polygamy law, Sarma noted that multiple marriages by men often cause significant harm to women. “Under the new law, if a man marries more than one woman, he will face up to seven years’ imprisonment,” he said.

Sarma also addressed concerns regarding reports that 19 villages in Cachar district were being transferred to Dima Hasao under a peace agreement signed on April 27, 2023, between the Dimasa National Liberation Army, the Government of India, and the Government of Assam.

“This is a rumour circulated by political parties such as the Congress. Today, on behalf of the Assam government, I assure everyone that not a single village from Cachar district is going to Dima Hasao,” he said.

Responding to activist Medha Patkar’s recent remarks on the investigation into singer Zubeen Garg’s death and the state’s eviction drives, the chief minister said that outsiders do not understand the struggles of Assam’s indigenous people and should avoid interfering in state matters.

“One community is trying to grab our land, and trying to take away our sisters through tricks like love-jihad. People like Medha Patkar won’t see that. If she comes here to protest against evictions, we will take strict action,” he added.

Shock In Indore As Australian Cricketers Face Harassment Ahead Of World Cup Match; One Held

0

Two members of the Australian women’s cricket team taking part in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup were reportedly followed, and one of them was molested, by a man on a motorcycle in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, police said on Saturday.

According to officials quoted by PTI, the incident occurred on Thursday morning on Khajrana Road when the players had stepped out of their hotel and were walking to a nearby café. A man riding a motorcycle began tailing them and allegedly touched one of the cricketers inappropriately before fleeing, said Sub-Inspector Nidhi Raghuvanshi.

The players immediately informed their team’s security officer, Danny Simmons, who alerted local liaison officials and arranged transport for their safety. Following the report, Assistant Commissioner of Police Himani Mishra met the players, took their statements, and initiated a formal investigation.

An FIR was lodged at the MIG Police Station under sections 74 (use of criminal force to outrage a woman’s modesty) and 78 (stalking) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A witness managed to record the motorcycle’s license number, leading to the arrest of the suspect, identified as Akil Khan, on Friday.

Police said the accused has a criminal history and is now under further investigation. “Khan has prior criminal cases registered against him, and an investigation is on in the case,” ACP Mishra confirmed.

The news surfaced just hours before Australia’s final group-stage match against South Africa at Holkar Stadium in Indore. Both sides have already secured their spots in the semi-finals, but the result of the match will determine who finishes at the top of the table.

Australia currently leads the standings with 11 points from six games, followed closely by South Africa with 10. A win for the Proteas would move them to first place, while any other result will keep the standings unchanged. The outcome is also crucial for India, as the group winner will face the Indian women’s team in the semi-final.

India-Born Democrat Ghazala Hashmi Leads Virginia Lieutenant Governor Race

Ghazala Hashmi, a Democratic candidate born in Hyderabad, is currently leading in Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor race, according to recent polling data. The Washington Post-Schar School poll, conducted via telephone between October 16 and 20, shows Hashmi ahead of Republican opponent John Reid by seven points, an increase from her four-point lead in September.

Ghazala Hashmi Holds 7-Point Advantage Over Republican Rival

Ghazala Hashmi, 61, who immigrated to the United States at age four with her mother and older brother, currently serves as a Virginia State Senator. The November 4 election could make her Virginia’s first Muslim and Asian-American lieutenant governor.

Campaign Focus and Cross-Community Support

Her campaign platform emphasizes education, healthcare, voting rights, gun violence prevention, climate change, housing, and affordable healthcare access. These priorities resonate strongly with South Asian communities, including both Indian and Pakistani-American voters.

“Her being of Indian origin is of little consequence for us,” Pakistani-origin voter Faiz Rahman told Dawn newspaper, reflecting broader sentiment among diverse constituents.

Shopkeeper Kuldip Singh stated: “And not because she is an Indian. I would vote for her because she is a Democrat—and Democrats are good for immigrants.”

Hassan, an NGO worker from Washington, told Dawn: “People like Ghazala remind us that this country belongs to everyone willing to work for it.”

Historic Political Background

Ghazala Hashmi made history in 2019 as the first Muslim and first South Asian American elected to the Virginia Senate, defeating incumbent Republican Glen Sturtevant. She secured the Democratic Lieutenant Governor nomination in June after defeating five other candidates.

Her nearly three-decade teaching career at the University of Richmond and Reynolds Community College features prominently in campaign messaging. A 30-second advertisement highlights this experience, with a supporter stating: “Ghazala fought for guys like me, expanding apprenticeships and technical training so we can get good paying jobs, whether you go to college or not.”

Debate Controversy

Reid, a conservative talk show host, recently staged a 40-minute YouTube debate against an AI-generated version of Hashmi after she declined to participate in traditional debates. Hashmi campaign spokesperson Ava Pitruzzello called the AI debate a “desperate move,” while the Democratic Party of Virginia dismissed it as “shoddy gimmicks and dirty tricks.”

Amit Shah Warns of ‘Jungle Raj’ Return if Mahagathbandhan Wins Bihar, Calls NDA ‘Five Pandavas’

Union Home Minister Amit Shah warned Saturday that “jungle raj” will return to Bihar if the Rashtriya Janata Dal-led Mahagathbandhan forms government after assembly elections, urging voters to support the National Democratic Alliance’s “five Pandavas.”

Amit Shah’s NDA Coalition Reference

Speaking at a poll rally in Khagaria, Amit Shah characterized the ruling alliance as comprising five Pandavas: the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal United, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Manch.

Development Versus ‘Jungle Raj’

“This election is the one that will decide whether to bring back jungle raj to Bihar or the rule of development. Do you want jungle raj?” Shah stated. “If Lalu-Rabri government comes to power, jungle raj will also come with it. If the NDA government is formed, a developed Bihar will be recognised throughout India.”

He lauded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, stating only the JDU leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi want Bihar’s development. Shah noted crime rates substantially reduced under Kumar, crediting the NDA government with freeing Bihar from Naxalism.

Attack on Opposition

Amit Shah criticized Mahagathbandhan for questioning the special intensive revision (SIR) drive in Bihar, alleging grand alliance leaders, particularly Rahul Gandhi, want to protect infiltrators. “Rahul Baba came to protect infiltrators. Tell me, should the names of infiltrators be removed from the voter list or not?” he asked.

He slammed both parties over dynastic politics, stating RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav wants son Tejashwi Yadav as chief minister, while Congress veteran Sonia Gandhi wants son Rahul Gandhi as prime minister.

National Security Claims

Praising the Centre’s NDA government, Shah stated India became the third largest economy under Modi’s leadership. He claimed India gave Pakistan “befitting replies” through surgical strikes in 2016, air strikes in 2019, and Operation Sindoor in 2025.

“PM Modi has worked to secure India. He has worked to make India prosperous. Form the NDA government again. I promise you that we will remove every single infiltrator from Bihar,” Shah declared.

Campaign Strategy

The rally reflects BJP’s aggressive campaigning strategy, invoking historical references to lawlessness under previous RJD governments while positioning NDA as development-focused, contrasting security and economic progress against opposition’s alleged support for illegal immigration.

PM Modi Launches NDA Campaign in Bihar, Endorses Nitish Kumar’s Leadership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the National Democratic Alliance’s campaign for the Bihar Assembly elections on Friday, October 24, 2025, during a rally in Karpoorigram. In his address, Modi predicted that the NDA would achieve unprecedented electoral success “under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.”

PM Modi Kicks Off Election Drive from Karpoorigram

PM Modi’s public endorsement of Kumar, who heads the Janata Dal (United) and serves as the BJP’s key alliance partner, followed the opposition INDIA bloc’s announcement the previous day naming Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav as their chief ministerial candidate.

Opposition Leader Criticizes PM’s Bihar Address

Following PM Modi’s campaign visit, RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav responded with strong criticism of the Prime Minister’s speech. Speaking to reporters, Yadav characterized Modi’s address as predominantly negative toward Bihar.

“Yesterday, the Prime Minister came here. Every single sentence and word of his speech was negative and defamatory for Bihar. He didn’t say anything positive. We would like to ask the Prime Minister, you have been the Prime Minister for the last 11 years, but what have you given to Bihar?” Yadav stated.

Yadav Questions Development Record

Yadav accused the Prime Minister of failing to deliver adequate development to Bihar, alleging disparities in central government support compared to other states. According to Yadav, the assistance provided to Bihar represents less than one percent of what Gujarat has received under Modi’s tenure.

The RJD leader asserted that Bihar’s electorate is seeking answers from the Prime Minister regarding his government’s developmental record in the state. Yadav claimed Modi has “deceived” Bihar’s population, emphasizing what he describes as a demand for accountability from voters.

The exchange marks the beginning of what appears to be an intensifying political contest in Bihar, with both the NDA and INDIA bloc defining their leadership structures and sharpening their campaign messaging ahead of the assembly polls.
