In a significant move following the unexpected suspension of lounge services by Dreamfolks Services, Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) has announced that lounges at its airports will now accept all major debit and credit cards from other access providers. This ensures uninterrupted access to airport lounges for travellers across India, provided their credit card issuer supports lounge access.

To determine if your credit card offers lounge benefits, you can follow these steps:

  1. Review Your Card’s Benefits Guide: The booklet or manual that accompanies your card typically lists all perks, including lounge access.
  2. Check Your Card Issuer’s Website: Log into your online account with your card issuer and search for the “benefits” section.
  3. Contact Customer Service: Call the hotline on the back of your card and inquire about airport lounge access.
  4. Verify Lounge Access Networks: Many credit cards that offer lounge access partner with services like Priority Pass, MasterCard Lounge, or Visa Lounge. If your card is part of one of these networks, you’re likely eligible for airport lounge access. Visit the official websites of these programs to check your eligibility.
  5. Check for Additional Cards: If your card includes a lounge access program, you might receive a separate membership card.
  6. Access the Lounge: To use your lounge access, simply present your card at the airport lounge reception, pay any required fees, and enjoy the benefits.

Note: Lounge access fees in India typically start at ₹1,000 per visit, but the exact cost may vary depending on the airline and lounge.

Additionally, some third-party apps, like ‘LoungeKey,’ can help you check lounge access by entering your card details. If your card is eligible, the app will display available lounges and their access conditions.

This change implemented by Adani Airports provides travellers with greater flexibility and convenience, ensuring a more seamless airport experience, especially in the wake of Dreamfolks’ suspension.

Supreme Court: Watching, Storing Child Pornography is a Serious POSCO Violation

Supreme Court

In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court of India has ruled that downloading, storing, and viewing child pornography constitutes an offence under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. This verdict overturns a controversial Madras High Court order that had previously stated such actions were not punishable.

The case centred around S Harish, a 28-year-old Chennai resident, whose criminal proceedings for downloading child pornographic content were initially cancelled by the Madras High Court. However, the Supreme Court bench, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice JB Pardiwala, deemed this earlier judgment an “egregious error” and reinstated the criminal charges against Harish.

What Supreme Court say in child pornography verdict?

The Apex court ruling clarifies that not only is the creation and distribution of child pornography illegal, but the act of downloading and viewing such content is also a punishable offence. This decision aims to close potential loopholes in the interpretation of the POCSO Act and strengthen child protection measures.

In a progressive move, the Court has recommended replacing the term “child pornography” with “child sexually abusive and exploitative material” in legal contexts, directing other courts to adopt this terminology moving forward.

How did this verdict come to stand?

The verdict came in response to a plea filed by Just Rights for Children Alliance, represented by senior advocate HS Phoolka. The alliance argued that the Madras High Court’s original ruling could potentially encourage the consumption of child pornography and harm children’s welfare.

This ruling marks a significant step in India’s ongoing efforts to combat child exploitation and protect minors from sexual abuse. By clearly defining the illegality of accessing and possessing such material, the Supreme Court has sent a strong message about the seriousness of these offences and the need for stringent enforcement of child protection laws.

What does SC’s verdict underscore?

The decision underscores the importance of digital safety and the responsibility of individuals in the fight against child exploitation, setting a precedent that could influence future cases and legislation related to child protection in the digital age.

Coldplay announced a third show for the Mumbai leg of its Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 on Sunday, citing “phenomenal demand” just hours after fans voiced frustration over long wait times on the BookMyShow ticket platform. On Sunday night, filmmaker Karan Johar took to Instagram Stories, hinting that he, too, was unable to secure tickets for the British rock band’s upcoming concerts in Mumbai, scheduled for January 2025.

‘You can’t get everything you want, my darling’
Karan shared, “Dear privilege, I love that Coldplay and mini Kelly always keep you grounded… you can’t get everything you want, my darling… Lots of love… Frugal.” His post came shortly after tickets for the new January 21 show at Mumbai’s DY Patil Sports Stadium went live on BookMyShow at 2 PM.

Coldplay ticket sale backlash in Mumbai
“Due to phenomenal demand, a third Mumbai date has been added at DY Patil Stadium for January 21, 2025. Tickets on sale at 2 PM IST today,” Coldplay announced on X, sharing the booking link.

According to reports, BookMyShow’s website and app crashed on Sunday when ticket sales for the band’s 2025 concerts went live. Soon, hashtags like #Coldplay, #BookMyShow, and #Crashed were trending on X.

Coldplay had already announced two shows on January 18 and 19, 2025, at DY Patil Stadium. Many fans posted screenshots of frozen computer and phone screens, as the app struggled to handle the traffic.

BookMyShow had initially set the ticket sales for the January 18 and 19 shows to begin at 12 PM, but fans reported that tickets remained unavailable well past 12:15 PM. A spokesperson from BookMyShow called it a “landmark moment” in India’s live entertainment scene, noting the overwhelming demand and excitement for Coldplay’s tour.

According to BookMyShow, 13 million fans logged in on Sunday to try to purchase tickets. Later, the platform warned fans about unauthorized sellers offering tickets for Coldplay’s India tour. “These tickets are invalid. Ticket scalping is illegal in India and punishable by law. Please avoid falling for scams! BookMyShow is the only official platform for ticket sales,” they posted on X.

Biotin Breakdown: Are You Missing Out on This Beauty-Boosting Vitamin?

Biotin
Biotin

In the world of nutrition, biotin often plays second fiddle to its more famous vitamin siblings. But this unsung hero of the B-vitamin family deserves its moment in the spotlight. Also known as vitamin H or B-7, biotin is the secret weapon behind those enviable locks, radiant skin, and strong nails that grace magazine covers. But its benefits go far beyond skin deep.

Experts worldwide stress the importance of a balanced diet, and biotin is a crucial piece of that nutritional puzzle. The National Institutes of Health recommends a daily value of 30 micrograms for adults. But how do you know if you’re hitting that mark? Let’s dive into the world of biotin and uncover the signs that your body might be crying out for more of this vital vitamin.

What can be caused by a deficiency of Biotin?

First up on our biotin deficiency bingo card: thinning hair. If you’re finding more strands on your brush than usual, biotin might be the missing link. This vitamin is essential for maintaining healthy hair follicles, so a lack of it could leave you with lacklustre locks.

Next, keep an eye out for scaly rashes, particularly around your eyes, nose, or mouth. These red, irritated patches could be your skin’s way of signalling a biotin shortage. Consider it your body’s version of a “Check Engine” light.

Brittle nails that chip and peel faster than you can say “manicure” are another telltale sign. Biotin helps strengthen your nails, so if they’re breaking more easily than a New Year’s resolution, it might be time to up your intake.

Feeling like you’re starring in your zombie apocalypse movie, despite getting plenty of sleep? Constant fatigue could be linked to low biotin levels. This vitamin plays a crucial role in converting food into energy, so without it, you might feel like you’re running on empty.

Last but not least, numbness or tingling in your extremities could be your nervous system’s way of waving a red flag. Biotin supports nerve function, so a deficiency might leave you feeling a bit disconnected.

Now, before you rush to the supplement aisle, consider boosting your biotin intake the natural way. Your taste buds will thank you for these delicious options:

Natural ways to increase Biotin in body:

Organ meats

Not for the faint of heart, but chicken liver packs a whopping 138 micrograms of biotin per 75-gram serving.

Cooked eggs

The incredible, edible egg delivers 10 micrograms of biotin, yolk and all.

Sweet potatoes

These orange delights offer 5 micrograms per cup, proving that sometimes, the sweetest things in life are good for you.

Soybeans

Three-quarters of a cup of these legumes will net you 5 micrograms of biotin.

Peanuts

Snack on 30 grams of these crunchy kernels for a 5-microgram biotin boost.

Button mushrooms

These fun guys (get it?) provide 5.6 micrograms per cup, making them a fun-gi way to up your intake.

Remember, while biotin deficiency is rare in those who eat a balanced diet, being aware of the signs can help you nip any potential issues in the bud. By incorporating these biotin-rich foods into your daily menu, you’ll be giving your body the tools it needs to shine from the inside out. So go ahead, indulge in that sweet potato, crack open an egg, or munch on some mushrooms – your hair, skin, and nails will thank you for it!

Kamala Harris Challenges Donald Trump For Round 2 Debate; Slams his Tactics

0

Kamala Harris is gearing up for a second debate against her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, ahead of the November presidential elections. The Vice President announced that she had accepted CNN’s invitation to debate the former president, who responded by saying it was “too late.” Harris and Trump had previously faced off in a debate earlier this month.

Harris Ready for Another Debate
Speaking at a rally in New York, Harris expressed her readiness for another debate with Trump, accusing him of “looking for an excuse” to avoid the encounter. During a fundraiser, she playfully challenged her opponent, saying, “I think we should have another debate.”

She told supporters at the event, “I accepted an invitation to debate in October, which my opponent seems to be avoiding when he should agree. He owes it to the American people, to the voters, to meet me again before election day,” according to a report by The Guardian.

The topic of high-stakes presidential debates has been a major point of discussion, particularly after President Joe Biden’s underwhelming performance against Trump in June, which ultimately led to his withdrawal from the race. So far, only one debate between Harris and Trump has taken place, which was generally seen as a win for Harris, while Trump missed opportunities to gain ground.

However, the post-debate shift in the polls was not as significant as the Harris campaign had hoped. A key focus for them remains introducing Harris to more U.S. voters. She recently appeared on Oprah to aid in that effort.

This week, Harris is set to unveil a new set of economic policies. The economy, a strong point for Trump and the Republican Party, has become a growing area of trust for Harris among voters. At the rally, she emphasized the dangers of a second Trump term, stating that his re-election could threaten democracy and pointing to the razor-thin margins in the polls.

In New York, Harris warned, “This is a man who said he would be a dictator on day one. Just imagine Donald Trump without any guardrails. This race is as close as it gets, and we are running as the underdog.” She called Trump an “unserious man,” but stressed that re-electing him could have “very serious” consequences.

Current polls show Harris with a slight lead over Trump, but the situation in key swing states, which will ultimately determine the outcome, remains uncertain—unlike the previous race when Trump held a strong lead over Biden.

Judicial Probe Initiated Into Sexual Assault on Army Personnel’s Fiancé

The Odisha government has initiated a judicial investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a 32-year-old woman, the fiancée of an army captain, at a Bhubaneswar police station, following widespread public outrage.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that retired High Court Judge Chittaranjan Dash would lead the inquiry and is expected to submit a report within 60 days. Additionally, a High Court judge will oversee the ongoing Criminal Investigation Department (CID) investigation.

“The police officers involved have been suspended, and criminal cases have been filed against them. Charges have also been pressed against the individuals involved in the earlier altercation,” Majhi stated, assuring that the state would ensure the guilty are held accountable.

Majhi reiterated that there would be no leniency for the perpetrators. “The Odisha government is dedicated to ensuring the safety, security, rights, and dignity of women, and holds deep respect for the army,” he said after a high-level meeting with senior ministers and officials on Sunday evening.

Earlier, Majhi’s deputies, KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, along with ministers Suresh Pujari and Prithiviraj Harichandan, met with the captain, his fiancée, her father, and ex-servicemen.

The woman, a lawyer and restaurant owner in Bhubaneswar, claimed that last week she was sexually assaulted, beaten, kicked, and dragged by police personnel at Bharatpur police station. She also accused an inspector of molestation and indecent exposure.

The couple had gone to the police station to file a complaint against a group of individuals involved in a physical altercation with them. In his First Information Report (FIR), the captain alleged he was unlawfully detained while his fiancée was sexually assaulted and then arrested.

On Saturday, seven engineering students were arrested for allegedly attacking the couple but were released on bail within four hours.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with former army chiefs VP Malik and VK Singh among those calling for swift action.
