Apple is set to push the boundaries of smartphone technology with its upcoming iPhone 18, slated for release in 2026. Industry insiders suggest that this device could be the world’s first smartphone to feature a groundbreaking 2-nanometer chip, developed in collaboration with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

Apple iPhone 18 to have the world’s 1st 2nm chip

The heart of the iPhone 18 will be the A20 chip, utilizing this cutting-edge fabrication process to deliver unprecedented speed and energy efficiency. Alongside this powerful processor, Apple is reportedly upgrading its packaging technology from Integrated Fan-Out (InFo) to Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module (WMCM).

This advanced packaging method promises enhanced integration of key components, potentially revolutionizing smartphone performance.

All about Apple iPhone 18, we know so far:

Memory is also getting a boost, with the iPhone 18 rumoured to sport 12GB of RAM, a significant jump from the current 8GB in iPhone 16 models. This increase could dramatically improve multitasking capabilities and overall user experience.

However, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the 2nm chip might be exclusive to the higher-end “Pro” models due to cost considerations. The standard models may continue to use the already impressive 3nm chip found in the current iPhone 16 Pro series.

While specific features of the iPhone 18 series remain under wraps, the tech world is already buzzing with anticipation. It’s worth noting that these details are still speculative, given that we’re two years away from the iPhone 18’s launch and the recent release of the iPhone 16.

A19 chipset expected in iPhone 17

Soon, the iPhone 17 series is expected to use the A19 chipset, based on the 3nm process. Rumours also suggest a potential shake-up in Apple’s lineup for 2025, with the introduction of an iPhone 17 Air model and the discontinuation of the Plus series. However, as with all early reports, these details should be taken with a grain of salt.

As Apple continues to push the envelope of smartphone technology, the iPhone 18 represents a tantalizing glimpse into the future of mobile computing. While we await official confirmation, the prospect of a 2nm chip in a smartphone is an exciting indicator of the rapid pace of technological advancement in the mobile industry.

The 2024 ISSF World Cup in New Delhi witnessed an unusual spectacle as Turkish marksman Yusuf Dikec drew crowds despite failing to qualify for the 10m air pistol final. Dikec’s allure stems not from his performance, but from his unconventional style that has taken the sports world by storm.

Yusuf Dikec: A global icon of 2024 Paris Olympics

Dikec’s rise to fame began at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he clinched Turkey’s first-ever shooting medal – a silver in the mixed team 10m air pistol event. However, it was his casual demeanour that truly captured the world’s attention.

Unlike his peers adorned in high-tech gear, Dikec stood out with his minimalist approach: standard glasses, yellow earplugs, and one hand nonchalantly tucked in his pocket.

The Iconic Pose at Paris Olympics

When questioned about his iconic pose, Dikec responded with characteristic nonchalance to India Today: “I started shooting and continued to shoot in this position only. But after the medal in the Olympics, I have gained popularity. But I have been shooting in this position.”

For Dikec, this relaxed style is more than just aesthetics – it’s a strategic approach to managing pressure. “The idea is to be relaxed,” he emphasized.

The 51-year-old’s effortless cool has transcended the shooting range, inspiring imitations across various sports. “Football, basketball, several athletes have done it very good,” Dikec noted, acknowledging the widespread adoption of his pose in post-game celebrations.

Who is the Turkish shooter, Yusuf Dikec?

Born in 1973, Dikec’s journey to stardom was far from overnight. He made his Olympic debut in 2008 and spent years perfecting his craft before his unique style catapulted him into the limelight.

The viral nature of Dikec’s pose has led to unexpected challenges. His coach, Erdinc Bilgili, expressed surprise at the fame surrounding Dikec’s style. Reports of others profiting from his iconic stance have prompted Dikec to consider trademarking it, transforming his shooting technique into a brand.

More than just Athlete!

Despite not making the finals in New Delhi, Dikec’s presence was felt throughout the event. He has become more than just an athlete; he’s a cultural phenomenon, bridging the gap between competitive shooting and pop culture.

Dikec’s story is a testament to the power of individuality in sports. By staying true to his relaxed style, he has not only achieved athletic success but also redefined what it means to be cool under pressure. As the shooting world continues to evolve, Dikec stands as a reminder that sometimes, the most impactful stance is the one that feels most natural.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

After a five-year hiatus, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned to the runway on October 15, 2024, with a star-studded lineup and a renewed focus on inclusivity. The event, held at Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York City, marked a significant shift in the brand’s image and approach to fashion.

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is Back!!!

Opening the show was American supermodel Gigi Hadid, who captivated the audience in pink lingerie adorned with oversized feathers and matching high-heeled straps. Hadid’s appearance was particularly noteworthy as she paid homage to pop icon Taylor Swift, replicating her style and earning enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.

Have a Look at the stunning Gigi Hadid:

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hadid revealed, “There’s something on the runway tonight that I learned from Taylor during her tour. In one of her rehearsals, she said, ‘I’m going to show you how we do this.’ I did it then, and now I’m using it tonight.”

The show featured a mix of veteran Victoria’s Secret Angels and fresh faces, showcasing the brand’s commitment to diversity. Adriana Lima, 43, made a triumphant return to the runway, reflecting on her long history with the brand.

Speaking to People Magazine, Lima expressed her excitement: “I’m really happy to be in the Victoria’s Secret show because this is where everything started for me. My first show was in 1999 in New York City. My last show in 2018 was also in New York City, and I’m back again in New York. It’s incredible. I seriously did not think that I would be back, and it feels awesome.”

OMG! Bella is looking sizzling hot:

In a surprise appearance, Bella Hadid, Gigi’s sister and a Victoria’s Secret veteran, graced the runway towards the end of the show, sporting a red bra set with enormous red wings.

The event also saw the return of other familiar faces, including Candice Swanepoel and Tyra Banks, who closed the show following a performance by legendary singer Cher.

Here’s to Body Positivity with Ashley Graham!

Perhaps the most significant change in this year’s show was the inclusion of models representing a wider range of body types, ages, and gender identities. Ashley Graham, a 36-year-old model known for promoting body positivity, made her Victoria’s Secret debut in an all-black ensemble.

Graham shared her enthusiasm with People Magazine, saying, “I am feeling really excited. I’m not nervous, and everything’s very secure; we’re not going to have anything pop out, which makes me feel good so I can strut it, and I’m honestly more excited just for the full representation that’s going to happen during the show.”

A duo of Mother-Daughter, slaying at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

The show also featured a mother-daughter duo, with supermodel Kate Moss and her daughter Lila making their Victoria’s Secret runway debuts. Lila dazzled in a pink outfit with tassels and sparkling lingerie, while Kate, at 50, received the loudest cheer as she strutted down the runway to “I Love Rock ‘N Roll” in a striking black ensemble.

This new iteration of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show represents a significant departure from its previous format, which had faced criticism for promoting unrealistic body standards. The brand’s website promised an “inclusive” event, stating, “Victoria’s Secret is focused on celebrating and supporting all women, and that won’t change anytime soon.”

A return of glamour after 5 years

The show’s return comes after its cancellation in 2019 due to declining ratings and widespread criticism. By embracing a more diverse cast of models and promoting a message of inclusivity, Victoria’s Secret appears to be responding to changing societal attitudes and expectations in the fashion industry.

As the curtain fell on this reimagined spectacle, it was clear that Victoria’s Secret was attempting to redefine its place in the fashion world. The 2024 show not only celebrated beauty in its many forms but also signalled a potential shift in how the industry approaches representation and body image. Only time will tell if this new direction will resonate with consumers and critics alike, but one thing is certain: the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is back, and it’s not afraid to evolve.

Baba Siddique Murder: Recent developments in the investigation of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder have revealed unusual methods employed by the accused shooters.

According to a police official cited by PTI, the three alleged assailants learned firearm handling through YouTube tutorials while staying in Mumbai’s Kurla area.

Accused learnt to use weapons from YouTube

Two of the accused, Gurmail Singh and Dharmaraj Kashyap, have been arrested, while Shivkumar Gautam remains at large. A fourth suspect, Harish Kumar Balakram Nisad, was apprehended in Uttar Pradesh and transferred to Mumbai.

The official stated, “The accused spent nearly four weeks watching these videos and learnt how to load and unload a weapon.” Lacking an open space for practice, they resorted to “dry practice” – shooting without bullets – in their rented accommodation.

Who was the key shooter of Baba Siddique’s Murder?

Interrogations revealed that Gautam, still a fugitive, was designated as the “main shooter” due to his prior experience with firearms from celebratory firings in his native Bahraich. He allegedly trained Singh and Kashyap in weapon handling.

To evade surveillance, the suspects communicated via social media apps like Instagram and Snapchat. Shubham Lonkar, a member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang who claimed responsibility for the murder on Facebook, reportedly instructed the accused to use these platforms. The official noted, “Snapchat has a feature which automatically deletes most messages after they are viewed or expire.”

4 accused in Baba Siddique murder held by Mumbai Police

Shubham Lonkar, brother of arrested co-conspirator Pravin Lonkar, is currently sought by police, having been previously arrested in an Arms Act case but later released on bail. Authorities are also pursuing Shivkumar Gautam and alleged mastermind Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar.

This case highlights the evolving tactics of criminal elements, utilizing online resources and social media to plan and execute crimes while attempting to avoid detection.

Jammu and Kashmir gets New Cabinet: Omar Abdullah Sworn in as Chief Minister

On Wednesday, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, marking the formation of the Union Territory’s first government in six years. The ceremony took place at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, where Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha administered the oath of office.

Jammu and Kashmir gets new CM as Omar Abdullah

Abdullah’s appointment represents a significant milestone as he becomes the first Chief Minister to take office since the abrogation of Article 370 and the conversion of Jammu and Kashmir into a Union Territory in 2019.

This marks Abdullah’s second term as Chief Minister, serving from 2009 to 2014 when Jammu and Kashmir was still a state under a National Conference-Congress alliance.

The new government formation follows the September-October Assembly elections, where the National Conference-Congress alliance secured a majority, winning 48 out of 90 seats. The National Conference emerged as the single largest party with 42 seats, while the Congress won six.

New Cabinet Ministers of Jammu and Kashmir

Surinder Singh Choudhary, a National Conference MLA who defeated J&K BJP chief Ravinder Raina in Nowshera, was appointed Deputy Chief Minister, ensuring representation from the Jammu division in the new administration.

Four other MLAs were also sworn in: Satish Sharma (Independent), Sakina Itoo, Javid Dar, and Javid Rana (all from the National Conference).

Is Congress joining the cabinet?

Notably, the Congress has opted out of joining the Cabinet for now. Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra explained the party’s stance, stating, “The Congress is not joining the ministry in Jammu and Kashmir government at the moment. The Congress has strongly demanded from the Centre to restore Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Besides, the Prime Minister has, time and again, promised the same in public meetings.”

Karra added, “But, statehood has not been restored to Jammu and Kashmir. We are unhappy and therefore, we are not joining the ministry at the moment. The Congress shall continue to fight for the restoration of statehood.”

No turmoil between Omar Abdullah and Congress!

Despite this decision, Omar Abdullah dismissed rumours of a rift between the National Conference and Congress. He clarified that not all nine Cabinet vacancies would be filled immediately, saying, “I will not be filling all nine vacancies in the council of ministers. Some vacancies will be kept open as we are in talks with Congress.”

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several opposition leaders, including Congress figures Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Before the ceremony, Abdullah paid respects at the mausoleum of his grandfather and National Conference founder, Sheikh Abdullah.

This new government formation represents a significant development in Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape, coming after a prolonged period of direct central rule.

It also highlights the ongoing discussions about statehood and governance in the region, with the Congress’s stance on Cabinet participation underscoring the continued importance of the statehood issue in local politics.

As the new administration takes shape, observers will be closely watching how it navigates the unique challenges facing Jammu and Kashmir, balancing local aspirations with the new constitutional reality of its Union Territory status.

In a significant development in the Baba Siddique murder case, the Mumbai Police arrested a fourth suspect, Harishkumar Balakram, from Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich on Tuesday. The 23-year-old scrap dealer from Pune is accused of being involved in the conspiracy, providing financial and logistical support to the shooters.

4th Accused in Baba Siddique murder arrested

Balakram joins three previously arrested individuals: Gurmail Baljit Singh (23) from Haryana, Dharmaraj Kashyap (19) from Uttar Pradesh – both alleged shooters – and Pravin Lonkar, a Pune-based co-conspirator.

The police also detained Anurag Kashyap, brother of Dharmaraj Kashyap, and are searching for a seventh suspect believed to be the crucial link between the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and the shooters.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang provided money, weapons

Investigators revealed that Balakram’s scrap shop was used by Dharmaraj Kashyap and Shivprasad Gautam. He allegedly provided money to the suspects, arranged a rented home in Mumbai’s Kurla, supplied a bike, and purchased new mobile phones for the shooters days before the crime.

Two pistols – one Glock and one country-made – have been recovered from the arrested accused. Three suspects remain at large: Shubham Lonkar, Shiv Kumar Gautam, and Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar.

Baba Siddique murder details:

The incident occurred on October 12, when Baba Siddique, a prominent NCP leader, was ambushed and shot outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Mumbai’s Bandra. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. Siddique was laid to rest the following day with state honours, attended by numerous political leaders and supporters amid tight security.

As the investigation continues, the Mumbai Police are focused on apprehending the remaining suspects and unravelling the full extent of the conspiracy behind this high-profile murder that has shocked Maharashtra’s political landscape.
