A Hermès Birkin bag, reportedly worth USD 32,000 (approximately Rs 27 lakh), was identified in footage released by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) showing the wife of slain Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar in an underground tunnel.

IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee highlighted the stark contrast between leadership luxury and civilian hardship, stating in Arabic, “While Gaza residents have no money for food, we see many examples of Yahya Sinwar and his wife’s special love for money.” The footage was reportedly taken the night before Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel.
