Multiple Suspected Khalistani Zindabad Force Members Killed In Encounter

Three individuals allegedly involved in a grenade attack in Gurdaspur were killed during an encounter with a joint team of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab police in Pilibhit early Monday, officials reported.

The suspects were identified as Gurvinder Singh (25), Virender Singh alias Ravi (23), and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18), all residents of Gurdaspur, according to police.

The encounter occurred in the Puranpur area of Pilibhit district.

Amitabh Yash, Director General (Law and Order) of Uttar Pradesh Police, stated that the trio was linked to a grenade attack on a police checkpoint in Gurdaspur, Punjab.

“The three sustained critical injuries in the encounter and were immediately transported to CHC Puranpur for treatment,” Yash said, as reported by PTI.

Authorities seized two AK-47 rifles, two Glock pistols, and a significant cache of ammunition from the suspects.

“The situation on the ground is stable, and legal proceedings are in progress,” Yash added regarding the aftermath of the encounter.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav Highlights Pilibhit Encounter

Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav shared details of the operation on X, describing it as a significant breakthrough against a “Pakistan-sponsored Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) terror module.” He noted that a joint effort by UP Police and Punjab Police resulted in an encounter with three module members who opened fire on the police team.

“This terror module was responsible for grenade attacks on police establishments in Punjab’s border areas. The encounter occurred within the jurisdiction of PS Puranpur, Pilibhit, involving joint police teams of Pilibhit and Punjab. The three suspects were directly connected to the grenade attack on a police post in Gurdaspur,” read Yadav’s post.

The Punjab DGP stated that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the terror module. He also confirmed the seizure of two AK rifles and two Glock pistols from the suspects killed in the encounter.
