Samsung To Add Chinese Language Support To Gauss AI for Upcoming Galaxy S24 Series

At the Samsung Developer Conference 2022 in Seoul, the tech giant provided updates on Gauss – its new on-device AI assistant. Gauss is set to debut on the upcoming Galaxy S24 smartphone series with Chinese language capabilities.

Unveiled at Samsung’s AI Forum earlier this year, Gauss comprises specialized AI models – Gauss Language, Gauss Code, and Gauss Image – to enhance user productivity and experience across diverse domains.

Gauss processes user data locally on the device for privacy. Its overarching goal is to enable more intuitive human-machine interaction, said Samsung’s Lee Joo-hyung.

Per noted leaker @Tech_Reve, Gauss currently supports Korean, English, French, Spanish and Japanese languages. But Samsung plans to add Chinese language compatibility soon.

This would allow Chinese users to access Gauss features like email drafting, translations and text generation in Mandarin on the Galaxy S24 phones expected to launch in 2024.

Samsung also previewed Galaxy AI – real-time translation during phone calls – for the S24 series. As per tipster Ice Universe, Galaxy AI will offer instant audio and text translations in multiple languages.

By integrating robust AI capabilities into its smartphones, Samsung aims to deliver next-level personalization, productivity and accessibility to users across linguistic backgrounds.

The addition of Chinese to Gauss underscores Samsung’s focus on making AI accessible to more consumers. With on-device processing, Gauss also addresses growing data privacy concerns around AI.

The Galaxy S24 series will be the first flagship lineup to natively feature Samsung’s versatile Gauss AI suite with multilingual support.
