Positioned between OpenAI’s free and Pro tiers, ChatGPT Go was launched in August 2025 following user demand for affordable premium capabilities. The subscription operates on GPT-5, offering several enhancements over the free version:
- Faster response times with quicker replies
- Higher daily usage limits for messages and image generation
- File and image upload capabilities for analysis and summarization
- Image generation features with reduced restrictions
- Memory capability to retain past conversations and preferences
- Extended writing, coding, and research support
However, the plan excludes access to OpenAI’s API, Sora text-to-video generation, and third-party connectors, which remain exclusive to higher-tier subscriptions.
Claiming the Offer
Eligible users located anywhere in India can activate the free subscription through the ChatGPT website or mobile app. The offer currently supports web and Android platforms, with iOS compatibility expected soon.
Users must provide payment details during activation, though no immediate charges apply. After the 12-month period ends, subscribers will be automatically billed Rs 399 monthly unless they cancel.
OpenAI advised current subscribers against canceling active plans, noting: “If you’re a current ChatGPT Go subscriber on web or Android via the Google Play Store, please do not cancel your subscription. We may automatically redeem the promotion for you later this week.”
