Mahindra Racing has revealed its updated livery ahead of the 2025-26 Formula E season, marking the Indian manufacturer’s twelfth consecutive year in the all-electric racing championship since entering in 2014.
The redesigned color scheme combines metallic red, gloss white, and carbon black, featuring twelve stripes representing each season of Mahindra’s Formula E participation. The bodywork prominently displays the Indian flag, emphasizing Mahindra’s status as India’s sole representative in a global motorsport championship.
Mahindra Recent Performance
The team finished fourth in the 2024-25 season standings, surpassing competitors including Neom McLaren and Maserati MSG, demonstrating steady competitive progress within the series.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, Chief Executive Officer – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., framed the announcement within broader ambitions: “Scream Electric is more than a campaign, it’s a movement. It’s about giving every Indian a reason to roar for our drivers, our team, and our electric future. As India’s motorsport culture grows, this is our moment to own the global circuit – not just as participants, but as pioneers.”
Technical Developments
The Mahindra M12Electro incorporates refinements developed during the off-season. According to the team, extensive summer development work focused on improving the GEN3 Evo package, which contributed to improved form during Season 11.
The company states that the October 14 livery unveiling showcases design philosophy extending beyond racing, with similar aesthetic and technological approaches planned for Mahindra’s upcoming consumer electric SUV lineup.
Mahindra Racing maintains an unchanged driver roster for the upcoming season, retaining Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara as race drivers. Kush Maini will serve as reserve driver, providing an Indian presence within the team structure.
Season Outlook
The 2025-26 Formula E season launches this December in São Paulo, Brazil, where Mahindra will debut its new livery in competitive conditions. The season represents the team’s continued evolution within electric motorsport’s premier series.
Formula E has grown significantly since Mahindra’s 2014 entry, expanding its calendar, manufacturer participation, and technical specifications. The current Gen3 era features increased power output and enhanced energy efficiency compared to previous generations.
Mahindra’s longevity in the championship—as one of the original entrants still competing—positions the manufacturer as an established presence within electric racing’s development trajectory. The team’s fourth-place finish demonstrates competitiveness within a field featuring major automotive manufacturers and specialized racing operations.
