Alternative Options
There is a similar offering from Airtel as well. It is called Airtel Xstream AirFiber. All these AirFibers are based on connecting to existing towers just like the phone. If one resides in a poor reception area, then one is bound to get bad speeds. This is unlike Fiber connections which are provided in the form of fiber cables unlike wirelessly.
Following is the difference between AirFiber technology and Traditional Fiber:
Aspect | Jio AirFiber | Jio Fiber |
Technology | Wireless (Point-to-Point) | Wired Fiber Optic |
Speed | Up to 1.5 Gbps (Varies) | Up to 1 Gbps |
Coverage | Extensive coverage, wireless | Limited coverage, wired |
Installation | Plug-and-play | Professional installation |
Cost | Around Rs 6,000 (approx.) | Competitive pricing (varies) |
We hope it will help you make a better purchase decision. This plug-and-play solution is going to be very useful for some users who require that use case. But it is not for all, so decide it well. As of now, the pricing has not been released yet. However, the price is expected to be around Rs. 6000.
