Snapchat Introduces New Ad Formats and Features – Check this out!

Snapchat, the popular messaging app, is expanding its advertising offerings and introducing new features for users. The company has announced plans to test advertisement placements in the Chats tab and Snap Map, providing businesses with new opportunities to engage with consumers.

Sponsored Snaps by Snapchat

Snapchat will allow businesses to send full-screen vertical video Snaps directly to users. These sponsored Snaps will appear in the Chats tab, separate from personal chats, and will not trigger push notifications. Users will have the option to open or ignore these sponsored Snaps.

Snap Map Ads

In addition to sponsored Snaps, Snapchat is also introducing ads to the Snap Map. Businesses can target users based on their location and interests, appearing as Top Picks on the map. Snapchat claims that these ads can drive significant increases in foot traffic to businesses.

New Features in Snapchat

Alongside the advertising updates, Snapchat has also rolled out the Footsteps feature to all users. Previously available only to Snapchat subscribers, Footsteps allows users to track the places they have explored and sent Snaps from. The feature leverages location data and stored Memories to provide a comprehensive overview of a user’s travels.

These new features and advertising options demonstrate Snapchat’s commitment to providing innovative ways for businesses to reach their target audience and for users to discover new places and content. As the app continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how these changes impact user engagement and advertising effectiveness.
