Tamil Nadu: Nursing Student Abducted, Raped, then Left at Railway Station

A shocking act happened in Tamil Nadu when a woman studying in Theni district was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted by a gang, the police said on Monday. The victim was found at a railway station.

Nursing student abducted, gang-raped in Tamil Nadu’s Theni district

According to the police, the second-year nursing student left her hometown on a bus. Then, she called her father to inform him that a woman wearing a black dress was following her.

Afterwards, the student’s phone was unreachable, leading to her father approaching the Theni Police station.

Further, she was found later at Dindigul railway station, where she had approached the police and told them she had been kidnapped nearly 50 km away from the station, sexually harassed and then left at the railway station, the police informed.

As soon she reached the police, the victim was rushed to a government hospital where she is undergoing treatment. The District Superintendent of Police, Pradeep also visited the hospital for an inquiry.

Case filed

Amid her current medical situation, the police are finding it difficult to question the alleged-rape victim as she reported going through an epileptic attack while being interrogated.

Meanwhile, All Women Police has lodged a case under two sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and has initiated a probe.
