The visit is part of his campaign efforts for the upcoming November 7 assembly elections in the state. During his visit, Rahul Gandhi was seen engaging with local leaders, addressing rallies, and notably, riding pillion on a scooter through the streets of Mizoram’s capital, Aizawl.

He accused the BJP of attacking the culture, traditions, language, and religion of the people. Further, he suggests that the ruling Mizo National Front in Mizoram supports the BJP at the national level.

Rahul Gandhi’s address to the rally included assurances that the Congress party would prioritize the preservation of the culture. But also, the language, traditions, and religion of the people of Mizoram. He cited his historical connection to the region and highlighted the importance of safeguarding these elements. Rahul Gandhi also drew parallels between the situation in Manipur and issues faced by tribal communities. These include minorities, and Dalits in various parts of India. Thus, urging voters to support the Congress party as a protector of these values.
