PM Modi Opens Up About Uri Surgical Strike; ‘Responded to bullets’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday commemorated the 2016 Uri surgical strike against terrorist camps in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, stating that when the BJP government retaliated with heavy firepower, it forced the adversaries to “come to their senses.”

“Today is September 28. On the night of September 28, 2016, a surgical strike was carried out. India showed the world, ‘This is the new India; it strikes within enemy territory… The masters of terror know that if they dare, Modi will track them down even in hell,’” Modi declared while speaking at an election rally in Jammu.

He also criticized the opposition Congress, remarking, “Remember those days when bullets came from across the border, and Congress would respond by waving white flags.”

On the night of September 28, 2016, the Indian army launched surgical strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to an attack by Pakistan-based terrorists on an Indian army base in Uri on September 18, which killed 19 soldiers.

The surgical strike was widely praised by the Indian public and the armed forces.

Modi Criticizes Congress, NC, and PDP
Addressing the crowd in Jammu, Modi also took aim at Congress, the National Conference (NC), and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stating that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are “exhausted” with the three ruling families.

“They don’t want a return to the old system marked by corruption and job discrimination. The people of Jammu and Kashmir are done with terrorism, separatism, and bloodshed. They desire peace and a better future for their children, and that is why they want a BJP government,” he said.

Modi also expressed confidence in the BJP securing a majority in the upcoming assembly elections in the Valley.
