In a recent development, Mumbai Police arrested 20-year-old Gufran Khan from Noida for allegedly sending death threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Maharashtra MLA Zeeshan Siddique. The suspect, who works as a tattoo artist in Noida, was apprehended following an investigation into a threatening message sent to Siddique’s Bandra office last Friday.
Here’s what sources said:
According to police sources, Gufran Khan admitted during interrogation that his motive was financial gain. “He was planning to send a follow-up message demanding money in exchange for information about the alleged threat, but was arrested before he could execute his plan,” said a senior police official involved in the investigation.
The threatening message, sent to the MLA’s office number, claimed both Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddique were in danger and warned of a conspiracy to kill them. Mumbai Police tracked the sender’s number to Noida, leading to Gufran’s arrest. He has since been transferred to Mumbai on transit remand.
Ramson from Salman Khan to spare his life!
This incident follows a series of threats against Salman Khan in recent months. Previously, a vegetable vendor from Jamshedpur was arrested for demanding a Rs 5 crore ransom from the actor. Another recent threat to Mumbai traffic control demanded Rs 2 crore for the actor’s safety.
The threats gain particular significance in light of the April shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence, which investigations linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The actor’s security has been enhanced following these incidents.
Salman shares his pain on Bigg Boss 18
Speaking on the TV show Bigg Boss following these events, Salman Khan expressed his reluctance to return to work. “I didn’t want to be back on the show, but my work commitments brought me back,” he said. “I didn’t feel like meeting anyone because of the difficult situation I was going through.”
The case has drawn attention to the broader issue of celebrity security in Mumbai, particularly following the recent murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s father, near his Bandra office. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for that killing, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation.
