G20 Summit | Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Amidst the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is involved in supervising and overseeing the preparations. Ministries like the Ministry of External Affairs, the Home Ministry, the Secretariat of G20, and the Cultural Ministry are working together to finalize the arrangements as well.
Several multilateral initiatives are planned to be launched during the event. These are aimed to enhance India’s global engagement as well as to address the pressing global challenges.
Middle East Infrastructure Corridor & Global Biofuels Alliance
Under this initiative, it seeks to create a robust infrastructure network that connects India with the Middle East. This would facilitate prosperous and secure trade. Saudi Arabia, UAE, and the US are going to unveil the same along with the collaboration of India.
The Global Biofuels Alliance aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels with alternatives like ethanol and jatropha. US along with UAE is going to participate in the same.
Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII)
It focuses on mobilizing the finance required for high-quality infrastructure projects in low and middle-income countries which covers areas such as energy, digital infra, health, and climate. This is led by the US at the expansion of the G20 Summit.
Other Initiatives along with a Bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden
Several other initiatives include advancing digital public infrastructure like payments, ensuring digital security, and much more. Also, the PGII and Middle East Infra Corridor are alternatives to China’s Belt and Road Initiatives.
Data security is a crucial aspect since the recent incident of a website breach of the Ministry of AYUSH in Jharkhand.
Further, there is also a bilateral meeting and dinner planned between PM Modi and US President Joe Biden. The growing partnership between both nations is to be highlighted and discussed.
Preparations & Conclusion
The creation of silent video clips is taking place that highlight the democratic values and progress of India. These clips are supposed to be displayed in the Leader’s Lounge to add a cultural dimension to the event.
