Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Unveils ₹1333 Crore Development Projects in Muzaffarpur District

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a total of 22 schemes valued at ₹1333.29 crore in Muzaffarpur district. The ceremony took place remotely from the Sakra Wajid Panchayat Bhavan complex, involving the unveiling of a foundation plaque.

The projects encompass the inauguration of six schemes costing ₹83.32 crore and the foundation laying/commencement of 16 schemes with a total outlay of ₹1249.97 crore. Key inaugurated projects include the construction of housing for officers and employees under the state scheme ( crore), two 200-bedded hostels at MIT Muzaffarpur ( crore), and the establishment of power sub-stations at Wajidpur, Bochahan, Kerma, and Kudhani ( crore). Additionally, the opening of two First Class Veterinary Hospitals, an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in West Muzaffarpur, and a Women’s ITI at the district headquarters were part of the inauguration.

The foundation stones were laid for several major initiatives. Among them is a high-level PSC box cell super structure main bridge and approach road across the Gandak river, connecting Fatehabad (Paroo block) to Chanchaliya (Saraiya block), along with three other PSC super structure bridges, costing ₹589.05 crore. Other significant projects include the construction of block-cum-circle office-cum-residential complexes across 12 blocks ( crore) and the building of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Ten Plus Two Residential Schools in four blocks ( crore).

Beneficiaries Acknowledge Welfare Initiatives

Following the event, the Chief Minister interacted with a large gathering of Jeevika Didis (women associated with self-help groups), pensioners, and other beneficiaries. Attendees expressed gratitude for numerous government decisions.

One beneficiary acknowledged the government’s efforts, stating, “Starting the Sustained Livelihood Scheme, increasing the number of self-help groups, and launching the Chief Minister Entrepreneur Scheme has given people considerable relief.” The beneficiaries also cited significant hikes in various allowances and pensions as pivotal, including increasing the monthly honorarium for cooks from ₹1650 to ₹3300 and raising the daily allowance for home guards from ₹774 to ₹1121. Pension amounts for the elderly, disabled, and widows were also noted to have been raised from ₹400 to ₹1100.

The Chief Minister commended the women for their work. “We congratulate all you Jeevika Didis. You are all doing very good work,” he said. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the development of all sections of society, concluding, “With your cooperation, Bihar is continuously moving on the path of progress. With your support and the development work being done by us, Bihar will advance further.
