Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar marked Mahasaptami on Monday by visiting prominent Durga Puja pandals across Patna, offering prayers and extending festive greetings to residents statewide.

Nitish Kumar visited the Shri Shri Durga Puja Mahotsav at Shiv Mandir in Khajpura and the Shri Shri Durga Ashram in Sheikhpura, where he prayed to Goddess Durga for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of Bihar’s citizens. The Chief Minister emphasized the festival’s role in strengthening community bonds and promoting devotional spirit among people.

During his Khajpura visit, Kumar also performed traditional rituals at the local Shiva Temple. Earlier that day, he attended a Maha Aarti program at the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, demonstrating his active participation in the state’s cultural and religious observances.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by several high-ranking officials and political leaders throughout the celebrations. The delegation included Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament and JDU National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha, MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia, and JDU State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha. Senior administrative officials present were Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Secretary Kumar Ravi, Patna Division Commissioner Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, District Magistrate Dr. Tyagarajan S.M., and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma. Event organizers, local dignitaries, and numerous devotees joined the celebrations, contributing to the vibrant festive environment.

The Chief Minister’s temple visits and public interactions during Mahasaptami underscored the cultural significance of Durga Puja in Bihar’s religious calendar. His presence at multiple worship sites conveyed a message of unity, hope, and collective optimism for the state’s future.
