Another doctor was killed on duty
Notably, this doctor-killing incident comes less than two months after Kolkata’s horrific rape-murder case, in which a trainee doctor was brutally raped and murdered at a state-run hospital, leading to a massive outrage nationwide by the doctors demanding the safety of healthcare staff on duty.
As per the aftermath of the Kolkata horror and the doctors’ protest, the Supreme Court has set up a National Task Force to recommend steps to ensure the safety of the doctors on duty.
