Hyderabad’s Lost Heritage Set to Become New Tourist Hub

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced on Friday that the historical buildings along the Musi river in the city will be developed into major tourist attractions.

He urged industrialists to support the preservation of these buildings, which are emblematic of the city’s culture.

The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting tourism alongside its welfare initiatives. According to an official release, the state tourism department has signed an agreement with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to restore several ancient stepwells in Hyderabad.

Speaking at the event, Reddy highlighted the government’s ambitious Musi Riverfront development project and criticized the previous administration for neglecting the city’s numerous historical structures, many of which are now in disrepair.

He also noted that the state government has undertaken the renovation of the old assembly building, with plans to relocate the Legislative Council to the refurbished premises soon.
