Priyanka Chahar Choudhary Revealed as Lead in Naagin Season 7 on Bigg Boss 19

Naagin Season 7: Producer and director Ektaa Kapoor announced Priyanka Chahar Choudhary as the new lead of Naagin Season 7 during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 19, ending speculation about the franchise’s latest protagonist.

Kapoor appeared on the reality show, engaging in playful conversation with host Salman Khan and participating in games with contestants before unveiling the highly anticipated casting decision. The announcement culminated in a performance by Choudhary, introducing her character to audiences.

Naagin Season 7 Franchise Legacy

Naagin ranks among Colors TV’s most successful franchises, with previous seasons featuring prominent actresses including Mouni Roy, Tejasswi Prakash, and Surbhi Jyoti. The supernatural drama series centers on shapeshifting snakes from Indian folklore, known as icchadhari naagins, who can assume human form.

Colors TV shared footage of Choudhary in character, captioning it: “Kehte hain ki agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho toh puri kainaat usse tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai! [If you really desire someone, the entire universe strategises to help you meet them]. Wo Aa Gai Hai! [She is here].”

Character Design

Choudhary’s Naagin avatar follows the franchise’s signature golden aesthetic established by previous leads. Her costume features a gathered golden skirt with slit detailing paired with a fringed golden bralette and matching accessories, evoking traditional folklore imagery.

Mythological Foundation

The Naagin franchise draws from centuries-old Indian mythology about shapeshifting serpents capable of transforming into any human form. According to folklore, these mythical beings can survive over 100 years and serve as protectors of the Nagmani—a magical gem resembling a diamond with supernatural powers, including the ability to restore life to the dying.

Naagin Season 7 Storyline

The upcoming season will incorporate the Kumbh Mela, a major Hindu religious gathering, as a central plot element. The narrative introduces a new antagonist in the form of a dragon, marking a departure from previous seasons’ storylines. Choudhary’s character will confront this mythical creature throughout the season.

The announcement has generated significant excitement among the show’s fanbase, with viewers anticipating the premiere of Naagin Season 7 on Colors TV. The franchise’s consistent popularity over multiple seasons demonstrates sustained audience interest in mythology-based television programming in India.
