Karan Johar And Kartik Aaryan Collaborate For Film Releasing On Independence Day 2025

Mending past differences, filmmaker Karan Johar has joined hands with actor Kartik Aaryan for an upcoming Bollywood project. Announced on Kartik’s 33rd birthday, the still-untitled film will be jointly produced by Johar’s Dharma Productions and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.

Sharing the news on social media, Karan expressed his excitement to collaborate with Kartik while wishing the young star a happy birthday. He revealed that the film directed by Aarya fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga, will release in theaters on August 15, 2025.

Kartik also reposted the announcement hinting that the project may be a war drama based on a pivotal chapter of India’s history. He said the subject is close to his heart and makes him proud to bring it on screen.

After rumors of their fallout over creative differences, Karan and Kartik’s professional union comes as a welcome surprise for fans. Karan wrote that he hopes their partnership continues to “create magic” and grow in strength ahead.

On the work front, riding high on blockbusters like ‘Bhool Bhulaiya 2’, Kartik has an interesting slate including the upcoming ‘Shehzada’, ‘Aashiqui 3’, and a film with Anurag Basu. With Karan Johar’s backing, his historical saga on the 2025 Independence Day weekend promises to be an ambitious addition.

For Johar, joining forces with an in-demand young star marks an attempt to reconnect with mass audiences. If delivered well, their patriotic drama could potentially recreate the success of films like ‘Uri’ and ‘Shershaah’.
