“Khalasi,” tells the captivating story of a fearless sailor on a voyage of exploration along the shores of Gujarat. This catchy tune was composed by Achint Thakkar. He was known for his work in “Scam 1992.” There he featured the talents of solo percussive acoustic guitarist Dhruv Visvanath.

Norwegian dance group Quick Style, famous for their viral “Kala Chashma” video from the previous year. They wowed fans yet again with their impressive performance to “Khalasi.” Their performance, shared on social media, was part of their partnership with Coca Cola India.

In preparation for Navratri 2023, Disney India posted a video on their Instagram featuring beloved Disney cartoon characters grooving to the upbeat rhythm of “Khalasi.” This unique and fun interpretation of the song further showcases its widespread appeal and catchy nature.
Aditya Gadhvi’s Musical Journey
The soulful rendition of “Khalasi” by Aditya Gadhvi reflects his remarkable musical journey. He received two years of training under the tutelage of Ustad Shoukat Hussain Khan, an eminent name in the world of music. Aditya’s talent was recognized when he participated in the reality singing competition “Lok Gayak Gujarat” on ETV Gujarat and emerged as the winner, receiving overwhelming support from the audience.
Furthering his musical education, Aditya became part of the AR Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory (KMMC) in Chennai. Reflecting on his journey, Aditya shared in an interview with Behind Woods, “I am in the Sufi Qawali ensemble in KMMC, so last year, we went to Dubai for a show, and Rahman sir was present. He heard my voice there and called me to sing a few lines for ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil.’ I received a call from his studio at midnight! He wasn’t even in Chennai, but he guided me over Skype from Mumbai.”
