“For the convenience of travellers and to clearly reflect the local identity, the proposed Uttari Pitampura Station in the QU Block will now be named Uttari Pitampura-Prashant Vihar Metro Station,” Gupta stated.

The proposed Pitampura North Metro Station will be renamed Haiderpur Village Metro Station, while the current Pitampura Metro Station will become Madhuban Chowk Metro Station.

Beyond metro station renamings, Gupta highlighted ongoing infrastructure improvements in the area. “The widening of Max Hospital Road and the construction of an underpass are also progressing rapidly, which will provide residents with better, smoother and safer transportation facilities,” she added.

The bus was traveling from Mecca to Medina when the crash occurred around 1:30 AM IST near Mufrihat. Most passengers were from Hyderabad in Telangana, Khaleej Times reported. The group was returning from Mecca after completing rituals when the accident happened.

According to Gulf News, many passengers were asleep during impact, leaving little escape opportunity when the bus burst into flames. At least 11 women and 10 children were among victims, though authorities are still verifying numbers.

Rescue teams reported the bus was completely charred, making victim identification extremely challenging. Reports claimed Mohd Abdul Shoiab survived and is hospitalized, though his condition is unknown.

Reports indicated around 16 pilgrims who traveled through two Hyderabad-based agencies, Al-Meena Hajj and Umrah Travels, were among those killed.

By the evening of November 12, mandis across Punjab had received more than 1,54,78,162.41 metric tons of paddy, out of which 1,53,89,039.51 metric tons had already been purchased. This accounts for nearly the entire crop that reached the procurement centres. The lifting process is also progressing strongly, with 1,41,09,483.18 metric tons already transported further, which represents 91 percent of the procured stock.

The procurement cycle, the removal of stock from mandis, and the disbursal of payments to cultivators are progressing at a rapid pace under the supervision of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak. Patiala district currently ranks first in the state with 96,920 farmers already receiving Minimum Support Price payments.

So far, the total number of farmers who have received the Minimum Support Price benefit has reached 11,31,270, reflecting the effectiveness of the ongoing procurement operations. The initiative is being carried forward with complete commitment under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, whose administration has prioritised a seamless, transparent and farmer-centric procurement season.
