Toyota Century SUV unveiled: Flagship SUV with unique sliding doors!

Toyota Century SUV Release

Toyota has gone all out and revealed details about the second model in the Century luxury line-up. Toyota Century SUV is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine with a plug-in hybrid. It also features a unique sliding door as an option. The car initially is supposed to go on sale in Japan.

Speaking about the doors, there are 2 options: a conventional door and a sliding door as shown below like an MPV.

The design is followed by the Sedan line-ups with emphasis on the grille inserts. The car has an upright stance along with rounded edges with a taper at the rear. The lights are all LED with different housings. At the front center of the grille, it features the iconic “Century Phoenix Emblem.” This emblem has been seen since 1967 on the Century Models from Toyota.

Though the Sedan gets a V12, the SUV gets a V6 petrol engine with a plug-in hybrid setup. It makes 406HP paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox along with four-wheel drive. The electric has a range of 69km pure EV while when the battery is depleted it has an average hybrid fuel consumption of 7 liters for every 100 km driven.

The following drive modes are available Normal, Eco, Sport, and Rear Comfort. In Rear Comfort, the braking and driving force is distributed in such a way that it is comfortable for rear passengers with no disturbance. 

Features & Availability 

When it comes to comfort, this car has a long list of the same. There are powered side steps on both sides, with the rear door opening 75 degrees. Also, a large grab handle is provided. The seats can be folded completely flat which is unlike any car in the world according to Toyota. This allows for more proper usage storage volume when needed. All of this also includes a rotating picnic table with touchscreen control panels and a refrigerator.

The sound system is supposed to be well done with 18 speakers. The interior has soft-touch materials along with woodgrain and brushed aluminum finish. Also, special attention has been paid to the Century steering wheel. 

Toyota Century SUV would initially be available in Japan and could venture to launch in other regions in the coming months. According to some, Toyota might bring it to India to lure potential luxury customers from other brands. However, the decision remains yet to be seen. The WWE star in talks is Nigel McGuinness who is known specially for his time in Ring of Honour. He is not only a former ROH World Champion but also worked for WWE as a commentator from 2016 to 2022. Later, on April 5, 2023, he signed the All Elite Wrestling.

During an interview with WrestlingNews.co, the All Elite Wrestling Commentator Nigel McGuinness spoke about the rumors regarding wrestling Bryan Danielson at All in.

“I don’t think he was planting seeds. I think he was just, that was the last thing he wanted was to have to wrestle me again for sure. But that being the case, (he said jokingly), you know, how ironic after he said that if he ever got in the ring with me he would break my neck. That Karma is a bitch. He broke his arm. The next time he wrestled from an elbow drop no less.”

Later he said;

Once Nigel McGuinness was signed up with AEW, Jim Ross praised the veteran. He also added that Nigel is a great addition as done by Tony Khan. Earlier, he was signed up to WWE for 6years as a commentator. 

“Nigel does a super job, too. Very conscientious. Works hard preparing. Does a good job. Nigel’s a great get for Tony Khan. Does a good job. We all dress in the same room, and Nigel’s diligent on his note taking. He reminds me of me, in that regard. Sometimes, you can take that sh*t too far. Swatch x Blancpain Collaboration

The CEO of Swatch Nick Hayek, recently revealed a collaboration between Swatch and Blancpain. He is also the creator of MoonSwatch and is getting a lot of buzz in the watch industry. This collaboration has been in the works since August 2022. The main objective of the collab was to create a unique collection of watches for all the timekeepers. This new move targets to tap into the younger markets which are price-sensitive but aspire to own luxury watches. 

The MoonSwatch was a collaboration with Omega, however, the new collaboration with Blancpain is seen as more impressive in the eyes of the people and the industry. The CEO has played a major role in making the most out of this opportunity. Blancpain is a respected luxury brand but not as popular as Omega in the traditional markets. Some think this makes it an attractive partner for Swatch.

Design of Watches from Swatch x Blancpain Collaboration

One must note that the design of this collection currently remains a mystery, but according to the officials who were closely involved in the project, careful design features and easter eggs are present. The design and eggs reference Blancpain’s history. The collection is supposed to consist of 5 watches which are named after the oceans of the world. The watch is supposed to feature new colors called Bioceramic which are inspired by the colorful nudibranchs which are native to each of the oceans of the world. The models are namely after the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and Antarctic Ocean. 

Rumoured Designs

For those who are not aware, Nudibranchs are sea slugs that are very crucial in marine ecosystems. Some crowds suggest that this might lead to an affordable version of the iconic Fifty Fathoms dive watch by Blancpain.

Details & Pricing 

As of now, the entire details about the watch are not clear. However, there would not be any Quartz watches given the commitment of Blancpain to mechanical watchmaking over the course of history. The CEO has anticipation for this to succeed, and if it does, they have more ideas for future releases. However, this is all in the wind, and nothing is confirmed yet. 

Speaking about the availability, it would be a similar rollout just like the MoonSwatch. The watches go on sale in Swatch Stores worldwide from 9th September 2023. While it would be available for display only in Blancpain stores.

Thus, Swatch X Blancpain’s collaboration is creating a lot of hype and excitement in the watch industry. The watch enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the release and hopeful that it offers a unique collection inspired by the world’s oceans. Also, the partnership aims to deliver accessible luxury watches to new boarding customers.

Intel’s Next-Gen Xeon CPU Leaks

Computer processors are ever-evolving in the world of Inte, Nvidia, and AMD. This time again, Intel has taken a significant leap forward with their upcoming 5th Gen Emerald Rapids 6th Gen Granite Rapids, and Sierra Forest CPUs. They are not official yet, but all the rumors might be almost true.

Emerald Rapids

These CPUs are supposed to feature the Raptor Core Architecture while packing about 64 cores with 128 threads which is a slight increment from the predecessor i.e. the Saphire Rapids. It would utilize the same LGA 4677 sockets from the Eagle Stream Platform.

The 64-core variants offer a mind-boggling 320MB of cache. Also, the CPUs support up to 5TB of DDR5 memory. The flagship SKu 8592V has clock speeds of 3.9GHz and 2.9GHz for single-core and all-core operations respectively. 

Granite Rapids

The 6th-Gen Granite Rapids CPU would use the LGA 4710 socket on the Birch Steam Platform with 56 cores and 112 threads. It also features 288MB of cache and supports DDR5-6400 memory. It is alleged that 12-channel memory support must be present looking at previous Intel’s demonstrations. They are expected to share a 350W TDP.

Sierra Forest E-Core

These ones represent the E-Core architecture from Intel. The same 350W TDP and CPU core counts are available in 96,128 and 144. More details about each processor and architecture can be found here.

The roadmap for Intel is quite impressive. There is fierce competition going on in the CPU Market. AMD’s Zen 5 and Turin processors are over the horizon too along with Zen 5C. To maintain its position in the market, Intel would need to face a formidable challenge. The coming years are essential for all manufacturers as they decide the pivotal fate of CPU Wars.

To conclude, Intel is coming up with significant advancements in the realm of high-performance computing. Neeyat: Vidya Balan’s Murder Mystery Film OTT Release, Where to watch?

Neeyat Murder Mystery Film from Vidya Balan

Neeyat was released in the theaters on July 7 and since then it has received mixed response. The reviews from audiences and critics from two months of its box office release were mixed. Finally, after a span of 2 months, Vidya Balan’s Neeyat is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from September 1, 2023.

Amazon Prime also went ahead and announced it on their social media platforms captioned “unmasking lies, one suspicious presence at a time!”  While some say that the movie proves that creative bankruptcy isn’t limited to the likes of Adipurush.

About Vidya Balan’s Neeyat & Production

The movie is produced by Abundantia Entertainment in association with Amazon Studios. The direction was provided by Anu Menon while the production was led by Vikram Malhotra.

In the movie, Vidya Balan is portrayed as a CBI Officier Mira Rao. Other casts of the film include Ram Kapoor, Prajakta Koli, Rahul Bose, Shashank Arora, Neeraj Kabi, Amrita Puri, Shahana Goswami, and Shefali Shah among others. The story revolves around the investigation of a billionaire murder.

Neeyat Audience Reviews & Critics 

Several people who watched it claimed that Neeyat could have been a great add-on to the list of similar genres. However, the movie has very little original to offer. 


The movie received a lot of criticism for the similarity of Neeyat with the Hollywood movie Knives Out. Vidya Balan took it as a compliment with justification. While many are disappointed that even the score of the movie is not an original piece they had the audacity to take it from someone else. This makes it very concerning for not being honest even when it is not possible to deliver the absolute best.

According to Director Anu Menon, “How do you address these comments? It’s not like you can just copy Knives Out, right? But the fact is that it is a genre of locked room murder mystery. That’s like Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, and so many more. But that is the setting. The difference is the story: what you are exploring through that. Every spy story is not James Bond. Every film that has men jumping off buildings is not Mission Impossible. I just feel that this genre is not overexposed in this country, people immediately go to Knives Out.”

Delhi scorches 40 degrees plus in September which is highest since 2011.

Delhi Climate crosses 40 degrees Celsius

On Monday, 40.1 degrees Celsius was the recorded temperature in Delhi. This is about six notches above the recorded season average for Delhi making it the maximum recorded temperature. Also, owing to poor rainfall in the Northern Part of India, several Indian cities have been reporting above-normal temperatures. 

As claimed by several weather reports and forecasts, Delhi would face partly cloudy skin with light rain. The maximum temperature is expected to rise to 37 degrees according to the weather department.

However, the weather department has expected the rainfall to pick up after September 4. India has faced one of the scantiest rainfall in August this year. There is also a 30% deficit in rainfall. Weather experts are hopeful that the monsoon will follow a similar trend and make up for the shortage of rain in September. As of now, it is unclear whether it will happen or not.

Climate in other states

Not just Delhi but even neighboring Rajasthan cities like Churu and Pilani recorded 40 degrees and 39.5 degrees respectively. The met department claimed that the temperature was above normal in cities like Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, Udaipur, and Jodhpur. Jaipur faced 37.2 degrees while Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, and Bikaner all together saw over 38 degrees.

Even though it is easy to claim and blame the rain for the temperature rise in Indian cities, Global warming is also a factor to be considered. Every year, global warming is on the rise which is causing climate change. In Delhi, the quality of air takes a hit every year with massive amounts of smog and fog. It is not only dangerous to human health but also the society and the environment. The AIQ (Air Quality Index) is now unhealthy for sensitive groups along with other major cities as well. Pusa and Shadipur in Delhi recorded 130 & 151 AQI Index respectively.

Thus, there is a need for the Government to take action and create policies that help to curb the rising problems of climate change, global warming, and much more. Let us see whether the rainfall picks up in September to make things cooler for the Indian cities.

G20 Summit India’s Presidency | PM Modi

The Prime Minister of India highlighted the profound philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” in his statement for the G20 Summit. It emphasizes the world is one family. The focus has been on human-centric progress, nurturing our planet as one Earth, and supporting each other’s growth as a single global family. The Prime Minister stated, “During India’s G20 presidency, this has translated into a call for human-centric progress. As one Earth, we are coming together to nurture our planet. As one family, we support each other in the pursuit of growth.”

One of the notable initiatives under India’s presidency was the 125-country-strong Voice of Global South Summit, aimed at gathering input from the global south. The Prime Minister stated that “The 125 countries-strong Voice of Global South Summit this January was one of the foremost initiatives under our presidency.” India has also pushed for the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member of the G20. There it reflects on its commitment to a more inclusive global community.

Points about food, security, and much more 

Food and nutritional security are emphasized, with a focus on climate-smart agriculture. There is the promotion of millet particularly. The Prime Minister stated, “In the International Year of Millets, we have taken millets – Shree anna – to global palates while boosting climate-smart agriculture.”

India’s G20 presidency has also aimed to bridge the gender gap and reduce labor force participation disparities. It also aims to promote women’s leadership and decision-making roles. PM Modi emphasized, “Indian women have taken the lead in various sectors. They have shifted the narrative from the development of women to women-led development.”

Conclusion

The Prime Minister concluded by highlighting India’s commitment to making the G20 presidency a people-driven movement. According to him, over 200 meetings were organized in 60 Indian cities, involving delegates from 125 countries, fostering collaboration and unity on a global scale. He stated, “Our G20 presidency strives to bridge divides, dismantle barriers, and sow seeds of collaboration that nourish a world where unity prevails over discord, shared destiny eclipses isolation.”

In summary, India’s G20 presidency has championed a human-centric approach, emphasizing unity, sustainability, and inclusivity on a global scale, and it has made significant strides in fostering international cooperation and addressing pressing global challenges.

Zika Virus 2nd Case Reported in Mumbai: BMC says 15-year-old girl now stable

Zika Virus in Mumbai

According to confirmation from BMC, a 15-year-old girl has been reported to have Zika Virus. This is the second case reported so far. The first case was reported on 23rd August to a 79-year-old resident of Chembur. The old man suffered from an infection and recovered.

Both of these cases have been reported within a span of 15 days which makes it more concerning for  Mumbai. The BMC has decided to take several actionable measures and precautions by conducting random samples in all of the wards. There have been a total of 5 cases in the entire state.

15-year-old Girl’s Case

The girl has no travel history so far. Initially, the treatment was sought at a private hospital where the PR test diagnosed her with Zika Virus. Later, she was shifted to Kasturba Hospital on Tuesday and was also kept in quarantine. According to doctors, her condition is stable now.

Nearby samples from the vicinity were collected too; however, no more cases have been found so far.

How the Zika Virus spreads?

The BMC has also increased the measures to curb the control of mosquitoes. Zika Virus is transmitted just like dengue and chikungunya via Aedes mosquitoes. The girl had symptoms of headache and fever since 20th August including other comorbidities. The BMC has asked people to not panic.

 “Zika infection is a self-limiting disease. Around 80% of people infected with the Zika virus are asymptomatic. Those with comorbidities are likely to develop severe infections that may require hospitalization.”

– says the Civic Body.

Symptoms & Prevention

Common symptoms include fever, rashes on the skin, and muscle and joint pains. Others include headache, conjunctivitis, and malaise as well. As of now, there is no vaccine available for Zika Virus at the moment. The first case dates back to July 2021 in Pune followed by July 2022 in Palghar. The third was a 67-year-old man in Nashik district.  

The prevention includes avoiding traveling to places of Zika transmission. Also, use mosquito repellents. For more safety, EPA-registered insect repellents can be used as they contain DEET and Picardin. Till then, please make sure to follow all necessary precautions and stay safe.

ISRO congratulates Japan’s JAXA for launch of SLIM Lander to Moon

Japan’s Lunar Mission: JAXA Slim Lander 

On September 7, Japan launched its H-IIA rocket which carried the JAXA moon lander. The lander is supposed to land on the moon early next year which is a span of 4-6months. According to Reuters reports, the launch finally took place after it was postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions. 

35,000 viewers gathered online to watch the rocket launch which took place in Tanegashima, Southern Japan. It also carries a research satellite which is developed by NASA.

ISRO congratulated the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) on its successful launch of the lander SLIM. This further will aid in investigating the moon. SLIM stands for Smart Lander for Investigating Moon.

JAXA’s Words

Before the launch, JAXA said:

“By creating the SLIM lander humans will make a qualitative shift towards being able to land where we want and not just where it is easy to land,” said JAXA, before the launch.

“By achieving this, it will become possible to land on planets even more resource-scarce than the Moon. Globally there are no previous instances of pinpoint landing on celestial bodies with significant gravity such as the Moon,”

ISRO wishes to Japan’s JAXA

The Bengaluru-based space agency ISRO congratulated and conveyed its best wishes to JAXA for its lunar mission. It also expressed its support for the endeavors of the global space community. 

This launch follows the recent achievement of India after becoming the fourth nation to land on the moon’s lunar surface. 

Mission Objectives

The space mission objectives are to help scientists to understand the universe’s creation and celestial object formation. It is conducted along with the collaboration of NASA. The mission also aims to study the light at different wavelengths and temperature assessments. It is also going to work on analyzing the shapes and brightness of celestial objects as reported by AP.

The SLIM is also known as Moon Sniper called after its precision landing technology. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries manufactured the rocket H-IIA. 

Thus, these are the mission objectives of Japan’s JAXA.

DogeRAT Malware: Android Users to Stay Safe!

The Indian government recently issued an advisory about a concerning threat for Android users. It is going on through social media as well as messaging platforms. The malware in the talks is codenamed as DogeRAT which poses a threat as it compromises sensitive data by granting access to hackers over the devices infected by it.

As of now, the source is unknown. DogeRAT is classified as a Remote Acess Trojan Malware which is targeting Android users in India as a part of the cyber campaign. The malware disguises in legit application APKs of popular apps like Opera Mini, and ChatGPT. Some versions also include paid versions of YouTube Premium, Netflix, and Instagram to lure users in the name of premium mods.

How DogeRAT Malware works?

After infecting a victim’s device, the malware gains unauthorized access to sensitive information of the user such as contacts, messages, and banking credentials. More malicious activities are possible such as taking complete control of the compromised device.

This can allow hackers to send spam messages, conduct unauthorized payments, modify files, capture photos, and monitor keystrokes and location. It can even allow recording audio and further compromise the privacy of the user in real life as well. 

Advises from the Indian government against DogeRAT Malware to Android Users

As a response to this threat, the Defense Ministry has advised everyone to exercise caution. Everyone is requested not to download apps from unknown or 3rd party sources or unknown senders. All smartphones must be updated with the latest software and security patches. If possible, install Anti-virus and Anti-malware apps on your phone.

This advisory comes after earlier findings by researchers from CloudSEK. It is a contextual AI company, that discovered DogeRAT targeting users across various industries mostly from banking and entertainment.

Recent incidents such as the breach of the official website of the Ministry of AYUSH in Jharkhand have also taken place highlighting the need to be cautious. DogeRAT malware poses a severe threat to Android users in India. Till then, download apps cautiously only from the Google Play Store.
