Saif Ali Khan Labels Rahul Gandhi as ‘Brave and Honest’ Politician

Actor Saif Ali Khan recently praised Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during an interview at the India Today Conclave. While promoting his latest film, Devara Part 1, Saif attended the event on Thursday. When asked what kind of politician he admired, Saif responded, “I like a brave politician, an honest politician.”

The host then mentioned PM Narendra Modi, former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, and Rahul Gandhi, asking Saif to pick a brave politician who could lead India into the future. Saif said, “I think they are all brave politicians. I think what Rahul Gandhi has done is very impressive. There was a time when people were disrespectful of his actions, but he has worked hard to turn that around.”

Saif’s comments were widely circulated on social media, especially among Rahul Gandhi’s supporters, with many viewing it as an endorsement. Notably, Saif had previously played a character resembling Rahul Gandhi in the Amazon Prime Video series Taandav.

Saif’s new film Devara Part 1, co-starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor and directed by Kortala Siva, was released on Friday. The pan-India action film has been released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi and saw impressive advance bookings, with projections of a ₹100+ crore global haul on its opening day.
