The Ayodhya Ram Mandir’s roof is reportedly leaking with the arrival of the monsoon season in 2024. The temple’s chief priest, Acharya Satyendra Das, expressed surprise at the incident, stating, “So many engineers are here, and the Pran Pratishtha was held on January 22, but water is leaking from the roof. Nobody would’ve thought this.”
According to news reports, the chief priest mentioned that the temple’s roof started leaking immediately after the first rains, particularly near the location of the Ram Lalla idol. He pointed out that the newly constructed temple lacks proper drainage, leading to water leakage and accumulation near the idol.
Acharya Das also discussed the ongoing construction of the Ram Mandir, expressing skepticism about meeting the July 2025 completion deadline, though he acknowledged claims to the contrary. He called for an investigation and action, highlighting concerns over the construction process.
The chief priest’s remarks emphasize doubts about the July 2025 construction deadline and the need for scrutiny regarding the recent water leakage issues near the Ram Lalla idol. He warned that if the issue is not promptly addressed, it could complicate prayer rituals, especially with the anticipated increase in rainfall.
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in the Ayodhya Ram Mandir was held on January 22 this year, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attended by senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders such as Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath, and JP Nadda.
Notably, the opposition managed to take the BJP’s seat in Ayodhya City, marking a symbolic loss for Modi’s party after the prime minister inaugurated the controversial grand Hindu temple on the site of a demolished mosque in January.
