HanuMan Crosses ₹250 Cr Globally; Mints Over ₹158 Cr In India

The Telugu superhero film ‘HanuMan’ continues its golden run at the box office, crossing the ₹250 crore gross collection mark worldwide in 15 days.

As per estimates, the mythological action flick has amassed over ₹158.5 crore in India so far. The contribution of the Hindi dubbed version is around ₹40.5 crore to this total.

Sharing the latest numbers on Saturday, director Prasanth Varma expressed gratitude towards the audience for powering the film to unprecedented success. He has already envisioned two potential sequels titled ‘Jai Hanuman’ and ‘Adhira’ to expand the movie’s cinematic universe.

Produced by Primeshow Entertainment, ‘HanuMan’ is headlined by Teja Sajja in the lead role along with Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Vinay Rai.

The story follows a petty thief named Hanumanthu (Teja) who gains the special powers of Lord Hanuman to defend the fictional town of Anjanadri from an evil force named Michael, hellbent on destruction.

Critics praised the movie for its balanced mix of mythology, drama, and superhero themes. Prasanth especially thanked the family audience for making ‘HanuMan’ a festival release.

The epic scale of the film’s production design and visual effects have come in for appreciation as well. Made on a budget of ₹40 crore, the movie is now racing towards recovering nearly 7 times its investment.

Prasanth hopes to build a cinematic universe around the central character with multiple follow-up films down the line, given the overwhelming response. The film marks his career’s biggest commercial success by a huge margin.
