‘Ramayana’ Stars Arun Govil, Dipika Chiklia, Sunil Lahri Arrive In Ayodhya For Ram Temple Ceremony

The lead stars of Ramanand Sagar’s iconic TV series ‘Ramayan’ – Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia, and Sunil Lahri, arrived in Ayodhya on Thursday to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the under-construction Ram Mandir.

Govil, who essayed on the role of Lord Ram, said the grand temple will become India’s ‘Rashtra Mandir’ (national temple) and a source of inspiration, faith, and cultural identity for Hindus across the globe.

Accompanying him were Dipika Chikhlia and Sunil Lahri, who played Sita and Lakshman respectively in the 1980s series that catapulted them to fame for their portrayals of the mythological characters.

The veteran actors expressed their excitement about being part of the once-in-a-lifetime event and said their presence continues to evoke much love from people even years after ‘Ramayan’ originally aired.

The trio has also collaborated to work on a new music album titled ‘Humare Ram Aayenge’, for which they recently filmed songs at various locations in Ayodhya including the Guptarghat.

The recordings have been melodiously rendered by singer Sonu Nigam to commemorate the Ram Janmabhoomi temple construction.

The actors said they feel blessed to be marking the milestone moment in Ayodhya’s history by bearing witness to the ceremonial installation of Lord Ram’s idol at his renewed Janmabhoomi site after years of struggle.
