As per early estimates, the film minted Rs 38.25 crore on Tuesday, propelling the total domestic collections to Rs 283.74 crore so far. The lifetime total is expected to surpass Ranbir’s previous highest grosser ‘Sanju’.

Globally too, ‘Animal’ raced past Rs 400 crore in the same period, establishing Ranbir as a dependable box office force.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ recorded steady Tuesday collections of Rs 3.5 crore, taking its 5-day total to Rs 33.55 crore.

The biopic on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw witnessed over 20% Hindi occupancy on Tuesday, with positive word-of-mouth aiding its run despite competition from the Ranbir juggernaut.

Experts feel ‘Sam Bahadur’ may continue its steady pace thanks to its patriotic storyline and Vicky’s gripping performance.

But ‘Animal’, despite criticism over its problematic premise, remains the first choice for hardcore mass entertainers thanks to leading man Ranbir Kapoor’s formidable star power.
