PM Modi Accuses Opposition
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the controversy surrounding Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks about Sanatana Dharma.
Speaking at a large gathering in Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi accused the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) of having a “hidden agenda” to attack and eliminate the culture of Sanatana Dharma.
PM Modi’s Strong Words
During his PM Modi launched an attack on the opposition party. He referred to the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) as the one without a clear leader. He also called it the INDI alliance. Further, he accused them of dividing the nation and people at a time when India was getting prominence globally.
“At a time when Bharat is emerging as a world leader at global forums, some parties are trying to divide the country and its people. These people came together to form an ‘INDI’ alliance. Some people are calling it a ‘ghamndiya (arrogant) alliance.’ They don’t have a leader yet, and there is a lot of suspense on who would lead them going into the Lok Sabha elections next year. They are working with a hidden agenda, which is to attack India’s culture.”

PM Modi further alleged that during their third meeting, the opposition bloc adopted a resolution aimed at “ending the Sanatana culture” in India. He expressed deep concern that this alliance was determined to undermine the ideologies, cultures, and traditions that have united the country and its people for centuries.
“This INDI-Alliance adopted a resolution to end our ‘Sanatana’ culture. They are bent on destroying the ideologies, cultures, and traditions that have kept the country and our people together for centuries,”

Backdrop of Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Remark
The Prime Minister’s sharp critique of the opposition follows recent remarks made by Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. Udhayanidhi Stalin had stated that Sanatana Dharma is incompatible with the concept of social justice and should be “eliminated” rather than opposed. He used the analogy that Sanatana is like malaria and dengue and must be eradicated.
Projects announced by PM Modi during the meeting
PM Modi’s address came after he laid the foundation for multiple projects worth over ₹50,700 crores in Madhya Pradesh, including the establishment of a ‘Petrochemical Complex’ at Bina Refinery and ten new industrial projects across the state. These projects encompass a range of sectors, including power, renewable energy, IT parks, industrial parks, and more.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s impassioned speech in Madhya Pradesh underscored his concerns about the alleged agenda of the opposition alliance to attack and end Sanatana Dharma. The remarks made by Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on this issue have sparked a contentious debate, prompting PM Modi to express his strong views.
