Operation Ajay
Israel-Hamas conflict: India has launched ‘Operation Ajay’ to repatriate its citizens from Israel. More than 18,000 Indians are currently in Israel. Out of these, many reside in conflict zones. They are in need of prompt evacuation.
Union Minister for External Affairs, S Jaishankar, announced the initiation of ‘Operation Ajay’ on X. The operation involves special charter flights and arrangements to ensure the safety and return of Indian citizens from Israel.

S Jaishankar said in his tweet:

Indian Embassy’s Response
The Indian Embassy in Israel has promptly responded to the operation’s launch. They have emailed the first batch of registered Indian citizens for a special flight and plan to contact others for subsequent flights.

Escalation of Conflict
The Israel-Hamas conflict has increased the death toll. Over 3,600 lives have been lost in Israel. Israel has formed an emergency unity government. It is led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The new government includes a war cabinet, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.
Israel continues to conduct airstrikes on Gaza and has deployed additional forces around the Palestinian enclave.
