The Indian women’s cricket team secured a historic gold medal at the Asian Games. It marks their second gold for the Indian contingent. India’s victory contributed to elevating the country’s medal tally to 11. It comprised two gold, three silver, and six bronze medals at the event.

Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues played pivotal roles in India’s triumph. Mandhana’s blistering innings of 46 runs off 45 balls, coupled with Rodrigues’ stroke-filled 42 runs in 40 balls, helped India post a total of 116-7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Bowling Brilliance

Titas Sadhu led the bowling attack for the Women In Blue in the final. She claimed three crucial wickets while conceding just 6 runs in her four overs. Sri Lanka managed to reach 97-8 in their 20 overs, falling short by 19 runs.

Titas Sadhu, the match-winner with her exceptional bowling performance. He was named the Player of the Match in the final of the inaugural Under-19 women’s T20 World Cup.
