Fresh Trouble for Khan Sir as FIR Lodged in Patna Firing Case

In a fresh turn in the case, Patna Police have registered an FIR against educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, along with two others over the June 2 firing and vandalism incident outside his coaching institute.

Officials confirmed on Friday that two security guards linked to the coaching centre were arrested after investigators examined video footage related to the incident. The action comes days after a group allegedly attacked the Khan Global Studies Institute and hurled stones at the premises.

According to a statement issued by the City Superintendent of Police (Central), the violence took place around 10:10 pm on June 2, when a crowd reportedly carried out vandalism and stone pelting outside the institute.

Police claim guards opened fire
During the investigation, police recovered a video that allegedly showed two men firing shots into the air shortly after the vandalism took place.

“During the course of the probe, a video was recovered which showed two individuals engaging in aerial firing following the act of vandalism,” the police statement said.

After verifying the footage, officers identified the two men as guards employed at the institute and subsequently detained them.

Based on the investigation and the recovery of weapons, police booked Khan Sir and two others under sections related to abetment and the Arms Act.

Officials also said the weapons used during the incident have been seized and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for further examination.

“Further action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the ongoing investigation,” the office of the City SP said.

Police issue advisory to students
Following the unrest, Patna Police appealed to students not to get influenced amid growing tensions linked to coaching institute rivalries in the city.

“All students are requested not to be misled by anyone amidst coaching center competitions. No compromise will be made regarding crime control and the maintenance of law and order,” the statement added.

On June 3, a large number of students gathered outside Khan Global Studies near Musallahpur Haat in Patna after reports of firing outside the institute triggered tension in the area.

Several competitive exam aspirants were seen protesting outside the coaching centre and raising slogans while heavy security deployment remained in place.

According to reports, shots were fired outside the institute late on June 2, during which one security guard sustained injuries and was later admitted to hospital.
