Singer Arpit Bala, who rose to popularity with his 2025 hit Bargad, recently found himself at the centre of controversy after an incident at his Hyderabad concert went viral. During the performance, a bottle was allegedly thrown at him from the crowd, leading to a heated reaction on stage. The moment quickly spread across social media, and the singer has now addressed the situation, sharing his side of what happened.
The incident took place on March 28 at Kingdom Klub and Kitchen in Hyderabad. According to videos circulating online, the disruption began when a bottle landed on stage while Arpit was performing. The situation escalated when he identified the individual who allegedly threw it and reacted angrily. He was seen throwing the bottle back, using abusive language, and spitting in the direction of the attendee. He also instructed security to remove the person from the venue.
In the videos, Arpit can be heard confronting the individual and making aggressive remarks, which further intensified the situation. The clip quickly gained traction online, drawing mixed reactions. While some criticised his behaviour as unprofessional, others defended him, arguing that he was provoked.
Responding to the backlash, Arpit later shared a video on YouTube to explain his actions. He clarified that he was not offering an excuse but wanted people to understand his perspective. He said the concert had been going smoothly for several songs before the incident occurred. According to him, a bottle struck him near the eye, and it was not the first time objects had been thrown during the performance. He said the impact disrupted his flow and triggered his reaction.
Arpit acknowledged that his response, including spitting, was impulsive and not appropriate. However, he emphasised that having objects thrown at him was not only disrespectful but also a safety concern. He added that the situation escalated further when those involved responded with verbal abuse.
He admitted that he reacted in anger and said that while he could have handled it differently, being physically targeted on stage crossed a line. He noted that such situations are difficult to manage calmly in the moment.
Arpit Bala, whose full name is Arpit Balabantaray, is from Faridabad and gained widespread recognition after Bargad went viral. He has built a strong online presence, with close to one million followers and millions of monthly listeners on streaming platforms.
