Ola Electric Mobility Ltd has renewed its #EndICEAge push at a time when rising oil prices, driven by the Iran conflict, are putting pressure on fuel costs. This comes even as the company’s EV sales have dropped to their lowest levels since its market debut.
The company, which was once India’s leading electric two wheeler manufacturer at the time of its listing, has introduced discounts of up to ₹50,000. Prices for models such as the Gen 3 S1 X with a 2 kWh battery and the Roadster X with a 2.5 kWh battery now begin at ₹49,999. Chairman and Managing Director Bhavish Aggarwal said the aim is to encourage more Indians to shift away from internal combustion engine vehicles.
As part of the campaign, Ola Electric has introduced several customer benefits. These include a service assurance that offers free Ola cab vouchers if repairs are delayed beyond the promised timeline. The company is also providing a buyback assurance of up to 60 percent on its EVs, along with a standard extended warranty of eight years for S1 scooters and Roadster motorcycles.
The introductory pricing of ₹49,999 for the S1 X and Roadster X models, along with additional benefits across the range, will remain available until March 31, 2026.
Aggarwal said that the current global situation and rising fuel prices highlight the importance of reducing dependence on imported oil. He added that increasing the number of electric vehicles on the road will help India move towards greater energy independence, and the company is committed to accelerating this transition.
