Choreographer and digital creator Dhanashree Verma has made candid revelations about her marriage to cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, stating the relationship faced problems from its earliest days.
Early Troubles Revealed by Dhanashree Verma at Rise and Fall
Appearing on the reality show ‘Rise and Fall’, Dhanashree disclosed troubling details about her marriage to Chahal, which began in December 2020. When actor Kubbra Sait asked when she realized the marriage was a mistake, Dhanashree responded, “First year. Caught him in the second month.” Both laughed and remarked, “Crazy bro.”
The couple initially connected through online dance sessions during the COVID-19 lockdown before marrying. Their relationship ended after they filed for divorce by mutual consent in February 2025, with the marriage formally dissolved in March.
Quick Divorce Process
Addressing speculation surrounding the separation, Dhanashree clarified the swift proceedings. “It happened quickly because it was mutual. That’s why when people say alimony, it’s wrong. Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on saying anything? My parents have taught me to only justify to people whom I care about,” she explained during a podcast appearance.
Despite mental preparation, Dhanashree described the emotional impact of the final verdict. In a podcast for Humans of Bombay, she recounted: “Even though we were so well-prepared mentally, I got so emotional. I started howling in front of everybody. I couldn’t even express what I was feeling at that point. He (Chahal) walked out first.”
Following the three-year marriage’s end, Dhanashree has prioritized personal well-being while dismissing public criticism. “Why waste time explaining to those who don’t even know you?” she stated, reflecting her approach to handling public scrutiny.
