Bhagwant Mann Government Dedicated to Supporting Freedom Fighters and Their Families in Punjab

The Punjab Government has reiterated its resolve to look after those who fought for the nation’s freedom and their families. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s administration has taken steps to ensure that the sacrifices of these heroes are recognised in both spirit and action. One such measure is the provision of a monthly pension of eleven thousand rupees for freedom fighters and their dependents.

According to Freedom Fighters Minister Mohinder Bhagat, this pension was earlier fixed at nine thousand four hundred rupees, but the Mann-led government raised the amount. He noted that the increase is not just financial support but also a way of giving greater honour to these families. Bhagat stressed that Punjab stands firmly beside freedom fighters and their loved ones.

He also remarked that Chief Minister Mann views the service of freedom fighters as a moral responsibility. Remembering their immense contribution to India’s independence struggle, Bhagat said their courage continues to guide society and instill pride in future generations.

Highlighting Punjab’s extraordinary role in the fight against colonial rule, the minister pointed out that the sacrifices of its people helped secure India’s sovereignty. Their story, he said, remains a beacon of inspiration and a reminder of what patriotism truly means.
