IPL Auction 2025: 23 Indians Priced at Rs 2 Crore+

IPL Auction 2025: In a plot twist worthy of a cricket thriller, the Indian Premier League’s mega auction is swapping the familiar Indian terrain for the glittering skyline of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The two-day cricket carnival, set for November 24-25, will see an astounding 1,574 players hoping to hit the jackpot at the Abady Al Johar Arena.

IPL Auction 2025 – Here’s base rate of Indian players

Among the hopefuls, 1,165 Indian stars are ready to test their market value, with 23 of them boldly placing themselves in the premium Rs 2 crore club. It’s a star-studded lineup featuring the likes of comeback king Rishabh Pant, the elegant KL Rahul, and fresh from his title triumph, Shreyas Iyer.

The Rs 2 crore club reads like a Who’s Who of Indian cricket: from spin wizard Ravichandran Ashwin to pace ace Mohammed Siraj. The elite group breaks down into a fascinating mix – two specialist batters (Shreyas Iyer, Devdutt Padikkal), five all-rounders (including the crafty Ashwin), three wicketkeeper-batsmen (Pant, Rahul, Ishan Kishan), and a whopping 13 bowlers ranging from Chahal’s leg-spin magic to Shami’s seam prowess.

In a curious scheduling quirk, this cricketing auction house will open its doors while the Border-Gavaskar Trophy unfolds in Perth. However, broadcaster Disney Star can breathe easy – the time difference means cricket fans won’t have to choose between watching players being sold and seeing them play.

What is the venue of IPL Auction 2025?

The venue shift from Riyadh to Jeddah was confirmed in an internal email to IPL stakeholders: “The venue for the auction will be Abady Al Johar Arena… accommodation will be at the Hotel Shangri-la which is at a distance of 10 minutes from the auction venue.”

The final tally shows 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped hopefuls, and 30 players from Associate Nations all vying for spots in cricket’s most lucrative league. As the auction paddles prepare to rise in Jeddah, the only question remains: who’ll strike gold in this desert extravaganza?
