As early counting trends indicated a commanding lead for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance in Bihar, Union Minister Giriraj Singh asserted the victory firmly belongs to the NDA and predicted the party’s next triumph will be in West Bengal.
Bihar Victory Statement
“Those who understand Bihar know that the people here do not want ‘jungle raj’. Bihar’s citizens reject anarchy and corrupt leadership. Speaking as a dedicated BJP worker, I say this clearly, Bihar’s victory is ours; now it’s Bengal’s turn,” Singh, who represents Bihar’s Begusarai in Parliament, told India Today in an exclusive interview.
West Bengal Prediction
He added: “We will win Bengal too. The current government there is marked by anarchy, influenced by external elements, but the people of Bengal will eventually recognize the truth.”
Development Focus
Giriraj Singh emphasized Bihar election results reflect voters’ conscious decision to reject lawlessness and endorse the NDA’s development-focused agenda. “It is about development, social harmony, and justice. Today, we see engineering and medical colleges opening in every district. Substandard ‘Charvaha Vidyalayas’ have been replaced. This is progress,” he stated.
Generational Memory
The BJP leader further stated: “It is true that today’s youth may not have witnessed ‘jungle raj,’ but their elders have. I am saying clearly, Bihar will not go into the hands of these corrupt leaders.”
Leadership Clarity
On questions about leadership and the chief ministerial position, Singh clarified the government will be formed under Nitish Kumar with no confusion necessary.
“Nitish Kumar has led the government effectively. There is no need for confusion. If this were about the RJD, the questions would be different. Under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the government has been formed. So where is the confusion?” Giriraj Singh asked.
Election Context
Singh’s comments came as the NDA raced past 162 seats at 10:15 AM, with the opposition Mahagathbandhan leading in 77 seats. The results vindicated Home Minister Amit Shah’s prediction of a 160+ seat victory for the alliance.
The victory marks a significant consolidation of NDA power in Bihar, with Nitish Kumar’s JDU experiencing resurgence from its 2020 performance.
