Parliament Attack Mastermind’s Associate Nabbed Amid Evidence Destruction

Delhi Police arrested two more suspects on Friday linked to the shocking security breach at Parliament earlier this week. The accused allegedly assisted key conspirator Lalit Mohan Jha by destroying evidence and evading arrest.

Mahesh, a Rajasthan resident associated with a Bhagat Singh Fan Club, was nabbed for sheltering Jha post the incident. A second individual named Kailash was also detained. Both are being interrogated for their role in plotting the orchestrated attack.

It was revealed that Mahesh planned to create a stir in Parliament on Jha’s directions but was stopped by family members. Jha had allegedly filmed scenes outside Parliament during the breach and sent clips to Nilakahya Aich, an NGO head in West Bengal.

But later, anticipating the arrest of his four accomplices who infiltrated Parliament, Jha got them to hand over phones and IDs before fleeing Delhi. He entrusted the devices to Mahesh, who destroyed them all. As raids intensified, a panicking Jha surrendered himself on Friday.

The shocking security lapses occurred on the same date as the 2001 attack, raising alarm on the 20th anniversary. Four individuals managed to sneak in colored smoke cans and use them to disrupt Parliament sessions. All were arrested and charged under the UAPA anti-terror law.

While their motives highlighted issues like farmers’ protests and unemployment, the blatant attack exposed dangerous flaws in the security apparatus of the highest seat of Indian democracy. The links between infiltrators and shadowy associates now under the scanner will point to deeper conspiracy angles.
