Mumbai’s Taj Hotel and Airport Receives Bomb Threat

On Monday, the Mumbai Police reported that a control room received a call claiming bombs had been placed at the Taj Hotel and the airport in the city. Following a thorough search, “nothing suspicious was found.”

The Mumbai Police indicated that the call “originated” from Uttar Pradesh and that a search for the caller is ongoing, according to a report by news agency ANI.

This bomb scare in Mumbai occurred against a backdrop of several other bogus bomb threats in various cities, including Delhi and Chennai.

According to The Hindu, the director of Chennai airport received two emails on May 26, claiming bombs would be planted near the airport and advising that passengers be deboarded. The emails were forwarded to the police, who found the threats to be hoaxes after conducting checks.

On May 23, two Delhi University colleges received bomb threats that were later determined to be false. The Delhi Fire Service reported receiving calls about bomb threats at Lady Shri Ram College and Sri Venkateswara College.

Additionally, a bomb threat was reported at the Union Home Ministry’s office in Delhi’s North Block on May 22.

Several schools in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Jaipur, Uttar Pradesh, and Bengaluru have also received bomb threats via email in recent weeks, causing panic. However, all these threats turned out to be hoaxes.

The Delhi Police noted that a total of 131 schools received threat emails on May 1. Additionally, at least four schools in Jaipur received bomb threats via email on May 13.
