He is currently one of the most bankable stars in the country, boasting several super hits in his filmography and having two of Bollywood’s most anticipated projects in his lineup. During the promotions for his upcoming release, Chandu Champion, Kartik shared an interesting anecdote about his fellow actor Ranbir Kapoor.
Kartik Aaryan’s career began with filmmaker Luv Ranjan, who gave him his first break in the 2011 buddy comedy Pyaar Ka Punchnama. The film, a sleeper hit, marked a successful debut for both Kartik and Ranjan. The duo continued their successful partnership with blockbuster hits like Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015) and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018). However, in 2023, Ranjan collaborated with Ranbir Kapoor for the film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar instead.
In a recent rapid-fire session with Zoom, Kartik was asked to describe a specific quality of Ranbir. Kartik promptly responded, “I think woh toh mera director le gaya tha naa us time! Apne director bacha ke rakho (I think he had taken my director away at that time! Keep your director safe).” While Ranbir played the lead role, Kartik also made a memorable cameo in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, joining Luv, Ranbir, and Shraddha Kapoor in a scene that went viral and was widely appreciated. At that moment, it felt like it was Kartik’s world, and we were just living in it.
