In a major casting coup for Netflix’s hit series “Wednesday,” Lady Gaga is set to join the ensemble cast for its second season, which is currently filming in Ireland. The Grammy and Oscar-winning artist’s addition marks another milestone for the show, which has already made waves with its unique blend of gothic mystery and teen drama.
Lady Gaga to join Wednesday Season 2 cast?
While the specifics of Gaga’s character remain confidential, her connection to the series predates this casting announcement. Her song “Bloody Mary” became a viral sensation after being featured in a dance sequence performed by lead actress Jenna Ortega in the show’s first season.
The production is also welcoming an impressive roster of new talent, including veteran actors Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, and Noah Taylor as series regulars. The guest star lineup reads like a Hollywood who’s who, featuring Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, Joanna Lumley, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.
Cast of Wednesday Season 2
Fans can expect to see familiar faces return, with Ortega reprising her role as Wednesday Addams, alongside Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Fred Armisen, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo. Adding to her responsibilities, Ortega has also taken on a producer role for the new season.
In September, Netflix released a tantalizing behind-the-scenes video, featuring Ortega’s characteristically dark humour: “If we showed you any more, your eyes would bleed and I’m not that generous.”
The series continues under the creative guidance of showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar, with acclaimed director Tim Burton, who helmed four episodes of the first season, returning as executive producer. The sophomore season promises to further explore Wednesday’s journey at Nevermore Academy, now with an even more star-studded ensemble supporting the supernatural narrative.
