Hema Malini, Esha Deol Condemn False Reports About Dharmendra’s Death, Confirm Actor is Recovering

Veteran actor Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol have strongly refuted false reports claiming legendary actor Dharmendra had passed away, confirming the 89-year-old star is stable and recovering in a Mumbai hospital.

Dharmendra’s Family Response

Hema Malini expressed anger on X (formerly Twitter) over the misinformation: “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.”

Esha Deol issued a statement on Instagram calling out media outlets: “THE MEDIA SEEMS TO BE IN OVERDRIVE AND SPREADING FALSE NEWS. MY FATHER IS STABLE & RECOVERING. WE REQUEST EVERYONE TO GIVE OUR FAMILY PRIVACY. THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS FOR PAPAS SPEEDY RECOVERY.”

Current Status of Dharmendra

Dharmendra was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Monday, November 10, after his health deteriorated. He continues to be monitored closely by doctors. As of Tuesday morning, family members confirmed he is alive and responding to treatment.

Career Legacy

Fondly known as Bollywood’s original “He-Man,” Dharmendra’s career spanning over six decades has given Hindi cinema unforgettable films. He debuted in “Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere” (1960) and became one of his generation’s most sought-after stars.

His filmography ranges from romantic classics like “Anupama” (1966) and “Bandini” (1963) to action-packed films including “Sholay” (1975), “Dharam Veer” (1977), “Mera Gaon Mera Desh” (1971), and the comic brilliance of “Chupke Chupke” (1971).

Recent Work

Dharmendra was last seen in “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” (2024) alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, following his performance in “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” (2023) with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and Shabana Azmi. His upcoming film “Ikkis,” starring Agastya Nanda, is scheduled for Christmas release.

Both Hema Malini and Esha Deol urged the public and media to act responsibly and respect the family’s privacy during this time, thanking fans for prayers for his speedy recovery.
