Nitish Kumar Launches Over 20K Projects Worth ₹11,921 Crore in Mega Development Push

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 20,658 development projects valued at ₹11,921 crore during a large-scale event held Monday at his official residence, Sankalp, 1 Anne Marg.

Project Breakdown by Nitish Kumar

The initiative comprises 16,065 public amenities and development projects worth ₹7,805 crore targeting roads, water supply, healthcare, and rural infrastructure. Additionally, 4,593 projects valued at ₹4,116 crore were inaugurated across multiple government departments to enhance social and administrative facilities.

Building Construction Focus

Among the announced projects, 97 schemes worth ₹997 crore and 137 projects valued at ₹2,467 crore are dedicated to building construction for key departments. These include Science and Technology, Technical Education, Animal and Fisheries Resources, Social Welfare, Transport, SC/ST Welfare, Backward and EBC Welfare, Minority Welfare, Sports, Labour Resources, Revenue and Land Reforms, Art and Culture, Youth, Disaster Management, Home, Agriculture, General Administration, and Commercial Tax. The Building Construction Department and Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited are implementing these projects.

The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for multiple schemes under the Public Health Engineering, Health, and Tourism Departments, addressing critical infrastructure gaps in these sectors.

Farmer Support Initiative

In a significant agricultural support measure, CM Nitish Kumar transferred ₹81.29 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer to 13,716 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Private Tubewell Scheme, managed by the Minor Water Resources Department.

Congratulating participating departments, Kumar stated the schemes would accelerate Bihar’s development trajectory. “Our government is committed to the overall development of the state,” he emphasized, noting that the projects would directly enhance citizens’ quality of life.

High-Level Attendance

Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha attended the event, along with Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Minor Water Resources Minister Santosh Suman, senior bureaucrats, and political leaders.

The massive project rollout occurs as Bihar prepares for the 2025 Assembly elections, highlighting the government’s emphasis on infrastructure expansion and welfare programs. The announcement represents one of the largest single-day project launches in the state’s recent history, covering diverse sectors aimed at comprehensive development across urban and rural areas.
