Newly disclosed documents from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate indicate the convicted sex offender-maintained relationships with prominent political and business figures years after his 2007 plea agreement that required sex offender registration, according to records released by House Oversight Committee Democrats.

The 8,544 documents include daily schedules, flight logs, financial records, and phone messages spanning nearly three decades. Among the findings were planned meetings with tech billionaire Elon Musk, venture capitalist Peter Thiel, and former Trump strategist Steve Bannon.

Documented Meetings and Plans of Epstein Files

Records show a tentative December 6, 2014 trip by Elon Musk to Epstein’s Caribbean island, with a handwritten note asking “Is this still happening?” Additional entries list a planned lunch with Thiel in late 2017 and a breakfast meeting with Bannon in February 2019, just months before Epstein’s arrest on federal sex trafficking charges.

The documents also reveal financial ledgers showing payments for “massages” connected to Prince Andrew, along with detailed flight logs documenting trips by Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, Andrew, and others between New Jersey and Florida dating to 2000.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking minors in connection with Epstein’s criminal network.

Committee Response

Democratic committee members emphasized the documents demonstrate Epstein’s continued access to powerful individuals despite his criminal history. “It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world,” said Oversight spokesperson Sara Guerrero. “Every new document produced provides new information as we work to bring justice for the survivors and victims.”

Republicans criticized Democrats for releasing the information unilaterally, characterizing the disclosure as politically motivated. A GOP spokesperson accused Democrats of “cherry-picking documents” while allegedly withholding files referencing Democratic officials.

Ongoing Investigation

The committee stated its review continues with many documents remaining heavily redacted to protect victims. Additional disclosures are expected in coming weeks.

Epstein, a wealthy financier who cultivated relationships with numerous high-profile figures, died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His connections to powerful individuals, including a previous friendship with Donald Trump, who told New York magazine in 2002, “I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy,” have drawn extensive scrutiny.

The document release adds to ongoing efforts to understand the scope of Epstein’s network and its implications for those who maintained contact with him after his initial conviction.
